I had some issues with my online reservations (they gave me a King instead of a double room, even though I reserved a double). I made multiple phone calls and wrote several emails to management and the best they would say is we will note it on your reservation that you would like to change rooms. Arriving at the hotel, I was hoping for the best. Vito at the front desk listened to my complaint was a ROCKSTAR and found me a double room instead of a King. He is the ONLY reason I left a 4 star review as I found the whole reservation process to be frustrating!
Otherwise, location was good and the cleaning staff was very nice and helpful. Rooms could use some updating, but were a good size for New York.
Meena took care of my room kept it clean and she is so nice. 5 star service. Room 908
The Park Central Hotel is absolutely ideal for a visit to the city. It's location, standard of hotel and excellent staff were very welcome. Betty in customer relations is a asset to the hotel and made our trip even better anyway she could. This is our 2nd trip to the city and we rebooked the same hotel. And we will do it a third time!
I was initially worried due to the bad reviews about destination fee and making charge however I’ve never encountered any of this.
Short waiting times for lift, staff was attentive and friendly. The hotel was clean and everything was working. Managed to get Netflix working on the room TV.
Me and my family enjoyed this hotel and would recommend.
Lovely hotel and a special thanks to Manny at the front desk for being very helpful and we will return again especially for the hospitality we received from manny
Awful experience, arrived at the hotel, was told our room was cancelled (eventually found the booking) and then our room wasn’t ready, this was at 22:00!!
Eventually checked in, stay was okay, room was fine, nothing to shout about.
Upon arriving at the airport to fly home, they’ve tried to take £390 (this is on top of the £298 holding deposit, which I presume I’m going to struggle to get back) from my bank account, luckily my bank have stopped that, after reading reviews it seems this happens ALOT! I have phoned the hotel and was told they’d call back in 20 minutes (that was over an hour ago) still nothing. We left the room, clean and tidy, in the same condition we arrived, have not done anything we shouldn’t have (including smoking which seems to be their reason for trying to charge people) this hotel screams of scamming people out of extra money! Shame because its location was perfect and a reasonable hotel to stay in for the price and we were already looking at re booking for 2027 on our way to the airport, now we will not be bothering!
Had a great stay at the Park Central Hotel New York! The location was perfect and the hotel was comfortable and welcoming. A special thank you to our room attendant, Meena, who was absolutely wonderful. She kept our room spotless, always made sure we had everything stocked, and was so helpful and sweet throughout our stay. Her kindness really made our trip even better. Thank you, Meena!
Thank you so much Vito for helping me and my family out!! Helped clear up our miscommunications and was incredibly polite! :^) our room also had the most incredible view
Great location close to Central Park literally 5 mins walk. Rooms could do with a update, not the biggest, lots of marks dents in doors. Few odd things firstly was supposed to have B and B but when we checked in we were told they dont do breakfast and to take it up with our travel agent. We saw people eating breakfast one morning. Randomly they called us up one day to offer free coffee, the gave us a kettle, some coffee satchets but no milk. They never replaced daily. Lucklily theres a starbucks next door and a great deli close by so wasnt an issue but odd to say they dont provide but clearly do. All in all if you want a great location its ideal. Beds were super comfy. Our window faced onto the main street which was good but also opposite another room so could see in and they could see in ours. All in all a good stay minus the breakfast issue
Average hotel. Clean and good location. Almost no customer service. No soap in room for duration of our 3 night stay. Washed hands with body wash. We didn't say anything to see if housekeeping would restock. Nope.
At check in, front desk ignored us while playing on her phone. Again, didn't say anything to see how long she would let us stand there. Waited several minutes. As expected, slow elevators. No room service, minimal things available at"store" in lobby. Overall it was OK. Clean enough and good enough. No pampering.
This is the worst hotel I’ve EVER stayed in. The entrance/Lobby is definitely what all the money goes to. First they gave us the key to the wrong room and when we entered someone else stuff was in there. When I went to let them know they did not even care that they just let me into someone else room and just gave me a new key with a different room number. We had to switch rooms after the first night due to it being very poorly taken care of and the water from the Toilet coming up and splashing on the floor everytime you flushed. The room was also so hot!! Air barely comes out. There was no shower liner and it was very unclean. I had talked to 3 different people about my issues with the toilet water getting everywhere and they all knew that it was a problem. They said “yeah some of the rooms do that” They had me check in my bags the next morning and said A room would be ready at 4. I double checked it would be ready because I didn’t want to take a chance that our room wouldn’t be. The man at the desk assured me that it will be ready at 4 and I said okay I just wanted to make sure. When we got back to the hotel OF COURSE they said no one left notes and they didn’t have a room. She had to get someone else I’m guessing a manager because he had a white suit while everyone else wore black. He finally got a different room. Still not the best but better than the first room. They only had 1 person work at the front desk most of the time. Max 2 people and that’s for checking people in and out. Also the elevators were broken and the wait for the ONE working elevators line was insane. I heard ALOT of complaints from other guest as well. They host a lot of school trips so the lobby will also be full of kids. Never again
My friend and I stayed at park central for 4 nights 1st - 5th march . Found quite rude and unhelpful woman on reception on arriving 2 check in . Quite a few rude members of staff could do with educating in customer service skills !!!! Room could do with a revamp eg dirty carpet , broken drawers . Bed was comfortable and a good shower . Maids cleaning skills wasn’t all that and didn’t put toilet rolls in the whole stay so had 2 make do with what was in on arrival , tissues and McDonald napkins . Best thing about this hotel was Carmelo the doorman , so friendly and helpful anytime we wanted 2 get some place he gave us directions and which subway 2 use and sorted our cab when we left . Fantastic !!!! Would come back just 2 see him lol
Great stay, Carolyn was phenomenal! Definitely recommend you stay here.
A perfectly positioned hotel to explore this wonderful city. This hotel is just a short walk to Central Park in one direction and Times Square to the other. The subway is nearby too.
The rooms are large and an adequate size for a family of 4. We shared 2 rooms between 5. The bathroom although small was more than adequate and fully stocked with shower gel shampoo etc. there was a hairdryer, iron, hangers etc in the room.
Check in was straightforward and the deposit was promptly returned upon checking out less the room tax.
The beds are the most comfortable I think I’ve come across in a hotel!! Absolute bliss after spending hours out and about. Rooms were cleaned every day with new towels etc.
I have no hesitation in recommending this hotel.
My recent five-night stay at the Park Central Hotel New York was unfortunately a very disappointing experience, which is a shame given the hotel’s excellent location in New York City.
The location truly is one of the hotel’s biggest strengths, making it ideal for getting around the city. However, the experience inside the property did not reflect the standards one would reasonably expect.
From the moment we arrived, the tone was set poorly. The welcome at reception felt abrupt and unnecessarily rude rather than professional or welcoming. Sadly, this approach to guest service appeared to be consistent across multiple interactions with staff during the stay, which often came across as passive-aggressive rather than helpful.
When we entered our room, several basic issues were immediately apparent. There was no shower curtain, no hand soap provided, the bathroom light was broken, and there were no instructions for the in-room safe. The room phone was also broken, meaning it wasn’t even possible to easily contact reception to report these problems.
A particularly frustrating issue during the stay was the lack of hot water. While these things can happen in any hotel, what was disappointing was the complete lack of communication from the property regarding the issue.
Attention to detail also seemed lacking. Even three days into our stay, the name on the television and account system was still incorrect, despite the fact we had already checked in days earlier.
Overall, the impression left was that customer service and basic room readiness were not being prioritised in the way guests should reasonably expect.
That said, I would like to make a point of recognising one member of staff. Ivan, who assisted us when we were departing, was genuinely helpful, friendly and professional. He helped us organise our journey to John F. Kennedy International Airport and was, somewhat ironically, the most positive staff interaction we experienced during the entire stay.
It’s a pity that the level of service we received from Ivan was not more representative of the experience overall. With improvements in communication, maintenance, and customer service culture, this hotel could match the strength of its location. Unfortunately, our experience did not reflect that potential.
I am sharing this feedback in the hope that the management team will take it seriously and reflect on the areas where the guest experience clearly fell short.
Finally, I would note that the issues outlined above were experienced first-hand during the stay itself. I am therefore not seeking explanations or justifications after the fact, but rather highlighting the experience as it occurred so that the hotel can reflect on where improvements are clearly needed.
Wonderful experience as soon as we arrived and got checked in by Vito! He shared plenty of recommendations and was great to chat with. Gave all the info we needed and more. Hotel room was spotless and bed was comfortable. Staff were kind and greeted at any encounter. Bar makes a great martini!
Good hotel, close to time square but still quiet. Hotel room was spacious, clean and huge/comfortable bed. New towels and a clean was offered daily. Friendly staff, also great bar which had a jazz singer/band on during our stay. Would recommend.
Easy access to lots of subways, tourist spots and an ideal central location.
Anyone travelling from UK, only use uber/yellow cab to/from airport to avoid getting scammed (not associated with the hotel).
Hotel is good. Great location. However i have got to the airport and received a £440 fee on the day of my departure, for absolutely no reason. Neither me or my partner smoke and there is absolutely no reason to be charged. The initial holding deposit was taken on the day of arrival and now this has happened after checking out. Avoid!
We had a wonderful experience - the hotel is in the middle from central park with its wonderful landscapes, and times square with lights, shops and music. The room was big and clean, and very comfortable. The price is good. We were charged twice for error but they solved kindly in a few days. Hope to come back soon.
We stayed for 5 nights. The staff we dealt with were all very pleasant especially Vito at the front desk who was always very helpful.
The room was spot on and very clean and was cleaned every day with fresh towels and bedding. If you're from the UK it's comparable to a premier inn in layout and size.
We ate twice in the bar and the food was very good and Nancy who served us was a really nice lady.
For us the hotel was ideally situated and with it being our first visit to New York it was a really great experience and we wouldn't hesitate to book again in the future,in fact I'm pretty sure we'll definitely be back.
