I am writing to formally express my dissatisfaction with my recent stay at the Atlanta Marriott Marquis from Friday, March 27 through Sunday, March 29. Unfortunately, my experience fell far below the standards I have come to expect from Marriott properties.
From the moment I arrived, I encountered a lack of professionalism from both the valet staff and the front desk team. The front desk appeared disorganized and inefficient, even while a visible line of guests was waiting. Rather than working with urgency, staff took an excessive amount of time assisting each customer, which created unnecessary delays.
Additionally, I was disappointed that no water was offered at check-in—something I have consistently experienced at other Marriott locations. I had to call the front desk three separate times to request bottled water, and ultimately, I was forced to go downstairs myself to obtain it. This level of service is unacceptable and inconvenient.
The issues extended to the condition of my room as well. The sink handle in the bathroom came off during my stay, which reflects poorly on the maintenance and upkeep of the property.
Another frustrating experience involved the Friends and Family authorization letter. I was required to print and pay for this document, whereas other Marriott properties have always allowed me to simply email it. This inconsistency in policy and the added inconvenience were both disappointing.
Lastly, the overall atmosphere of the hotel was chaotic and excessively noisy, making it difficult to relax and enjoy my stay.
Given these multiple concerns, I am extremely dissatisfied with my experience. I expected a much higher level of service, professionalism, and consistency from a Marriott-branded property.
I would appreciate a response regarding how these issues will be addressed and what steps will be taken to prevent similar experiences for future guests. Additionally, I hope you will consider appropriate compensation or points for the inconvenience and frustration caused during my stay.

The view was perfect. The room was nicely cleaned. Everything about my stay was great. I will use this hotel again the next time I'm in Atlanta.

Innsjekk var helt forferdelig! Stod 1,5 timer i kø for å sjekke inn etter 18 timer på reise fra Norge.
The little market was lovely and the brunch at Sear was delicious. I appreciated that they had several elevators and they were split up depending on floor as this hotel has a lot of floors. We stayed here for a dance convention so we did not leave the hotel much as the convention was at the connecting hotel.
It would have been a little more helpful for signage to direct where things were. This hotel is large and connects to another hotel as well as a tunnel to get to a small food court. We did a lot of extra walking and got quite turned around trying to locate things. This was only a minor inconvenience.

The outlets didnt work. The mattress was really un comfortable, I could feel the hard springs. There was a light on the desk that was broken and wouldn’t turn off. The room smelled like cigarette smoke.
