The entire place needs an upgrade especially the lines and electrical these were both a disaster.
Pros:

Great location terrible room, the sheets actually cut my skin. They were rough and ripped, never experienced such a terrible linen experience it disrupted my sleep and trip.

Awful experience. Room was not cleaned 2 days in a row
Pros:

I stayed there as part of a business convention. Service was unacceptable. My room was not cleaned for 2 days in a row. The 2nd time, I reported again to the front desk and asked for the room to be cleaned later in the day and it was not. Just unacceptable. It was such abad experience, did not feel considered. I definitely do not recommend this place, plenty of better options in the city.

Amazing experience WITH excellence in service delivery.....

Thank you all for your hospitality. I have not been back to the Birkshire in a while but I sure did miss it. I love seeing the same doormen and having access to the wonderful restaurant for drinks and food. BUT mostly IMPORTANTLY having IVAN as the concierge has made a WORLD of difference. I must also mention the lady who checked me in and consider what options they had for an upgrade since I have been a member for years. But the consideration and kindness goes a long way. I also enjoyed the extra macaroons and cookies. Thanks for having water available as I definitely benefitted after a long night at OfCorsica drinking Opus One all night haha. But in truth is starting with Ivan who went above and beyond to give my Opus One friends a beautiful arrangement that was precious, timeless and flawless to the Belgium chocolate and recc for local wine options MADE my world turn ROUND. He has what it takes to move anyone with his professionalism, temperament, ability to connect me with whomever and whatever I needed incl the driver but also his passion. It was all so evident. Thus, I am back for a medical conference in Dec and its because of Ivan.

Omni Berkshire Place Shines
Pros:

Best hotel in NYC. The property is well-maintained. The guest rooms are large, comfortable and well-decorated. Customer service is excellent, provided by a friendly, knowledgeable, experienced staff who are highly professional. The Omni Berkshire Place shines brightly in every way. Highly recommended.

First timer experience- Perfect!
Pros:

The Omni was a great experience for me and my 2 friends! They had very clean rooms (although a little dated) with helpful and kind staff. The hotel is located in the perfect spot if you want to be near 5th Ave shopping and avoiding the Times Square noise. I found it to be perfect as a first time visitor to NYC that wanted to visit things all over. It’s close enough to visit every area easily via walking or subway. It was a great experience and I would recommend to anyone.

It was good but not excellent.
Pros:

It was a very traditional hotel.

Cons:

The blind in the window had a stain and the bathroom was a bit old. The shower in the bathtub was also very rustic.
