Sheraton Norfolk Waterside Hotel

My wife and I had our honeymoon here. Jermaine was awesome! He was very professional. Also knowledgeable about the establishment and the surrounding areas. Thank you for your hospitality.

When we cruise out of Norfolk, we like to take advantage of the Park & Cruise packages at the downtown Norfolk hotels. You stay one night, and can leave your car for the duration of the cruise. Any of the downtown hotels are a short walk to the cruise port. We had stayed at 2 different ones in the past. Both were okay. This time, we decided to try the Sheraton Norfolk Waterside. The hotel and room were clean. The water pressure in the shower was amazing! The package included valet parking at a discounted rate, and a free breakfast buffet. While the buffet wasn’t large, it was much better than the typical hotel breakfast. It included an omelet station. The food was quite good. The restaurant also serves dinner. The Waterside market is right next door. And a very short walk into downtown gives you many more dining options. The walk to the cruise port was about 8 – 10 minutes. When the ship arrived back in Norfolk, traffic was a mess and everyone was waiting for their ride to try and get to them. We simply made the short walk back to the hotel and were on the road home. We will continue to use the Sheraton Waterside Norfolk in the future.

All of the gentlemen that handled our car were very respectful to us and our car, especially Amir. Very nice gentleman!!

Do not park your car here while you cruise. When leaving our car there and paying $150 to do so they assured us that they would be able to pick us up at port. Once we got off the ship at the port and called they said they didn't have a shuttle to pick us up. The hotel is very nice.

In town for a wedding. This is where the bride and groom got a block of rooms. ~$150/night. Not terrible. Room was decent. No real complaints. I checked for bedbugs (I’m like that) and found none. Great! The one thing I can complain about is the shower. While the water flow and pressure are excellent, the tub fills up and you’re in ankle deep water in the end. Not great.
The day after the wedding I kept the room for an extra night to “recover” before the long 6-8 hr drive home. I ordered food delivered from an outside restaurant and didn’t know delivery people are not allowed up on guest floors. The food sat at the front desk for at least half an hour. The room number was on the order, but no one bothered to call and let me know it was there. I called the front desk and let them know what the situation was and the put me on hold so they could “check” if they had it. I hung up, called again and again they put me on hold to “check”. I KNOW they were being petty and making me hold out of spite. One of them actually said they tell guests on check-in in about the delivery policy. No way did they tell me that. No way. Ok, my bad, SO IS THE FOOD THERE OR NOT? Oh yes ma’am. It’s here. I get dressed, go down there, and the food was just sitting there on the counter in plain sight. They had to “check”?? Really??? Just turn your head with your eyes open and you’ll see it. So petty and LAZY. The food was ice cold. Just annoying and frustrating all the way around. Customer service here at the hotel is lacking to say the least. Don’t park with the hotel. It’s $20/night while municipal lot across the street is $13/night.

This a Beautiful Hotel!! The beds were wonderful!!! I melted into those sheets!! My Bestie and I did brunch on the Spirit of Norfolk. Not wanting to drive back home 2 1/2 hours away after. We booked this hotel in advance. Very clean rooms and hotel itself!!! I highly recommend and will definitely book here again. If you use room service as we did. Please pay attention to your receipt if you allow your card on file to be used for room service. I didn't check my emailed receipt for room service. There were a few additions on my bill that I questioned to myself. Because it was after I checked out that I even checked my emailed receipt. Oh well!!! I will do better with that next time. Over all Fantastic Mother's Day weekend was had in Norfolk!!💚💚💚
