Motel 6-Gatlinburg, TN - Smoky Mountains

The 2 upfront were not very welcoming. We interrupted a personal phone call the front desk lady was making. We came an hour early so see if we could get in our room early and she stayed on her phone call and answered us very shortly and basically shooed us off. We went to eat and came back and she was still on her cell phone and had the guy help us instead. He was nice enough. Got in the room, roaches everywhere, especially once the lights went off. We went to another hotel. We booked through booking.com so he said I’d have to contact them for a refund. They said they would but sent an email to Motel 6 to confirm we checked in. Despite my calling him to let him know they’d get this email he told them we never checked in. Despite us having pictures and the car tag that we couldn’t have gotten without checking in. Despite the phone call evidence where he said he would respond to their email confirming we checked in. We weren’t even rude about leaving, we just told them the room is full of roaches, showed pics of them and said unfortunately we cannot stay.

the front desk lady was really rude and told me i need to learn how to read after i told her she gave us the wrong room so we didn’t get what we paid for

The fridge wasn’t working and one thing I did not like about it was that when I originally looked at places to stay, I specifically chose one that had a Jacuzzi and this was supposed to have a Jacuzzi and it didn’t. I had a fire pit and when I asked the hotel about it, they said next time just call us and book it because pretty much booking.com told me one thing and they gave me something else when I got there.

Property is old and horrible no hot water staff didn’t have another room to swap the Jamaican front desk lady was horrible no customer service skills very rude ! Was not helpful at all don’t book here

This hotel did not meet my standards by any means. And starting off a bug ran across the front desk and the Oder in the office we were worried. It was not in the location it said. The pictures online did not match what I booked so that was a shock when I pulled up. They said they recently renovated… well that meant using white paint and painting over old electrical outlets and using that cheap grey flooring that every apartment uses so your rent goes from 750 to 1200. My toilet moved when you sat down. My shower had zero pressure. Our bed was so hard laying on the floor might have been better. At first it smelled clean like bleach and then as we were there for the week it stunk like burning wires when we came back. And the worst part was we signed saying we didn’t want anyone in the room with our dogs not because they are aggressive or anything just stress levels being new to them. But they insisted they had to be in our rooms, but never cleaned the room. While testing that by leaving dirt on the bed, they left it, and covered it by making the bed. Left towels and toilet paper but no way were they sweeping the floors. We debating staying somewhere else by Tuesday or Wednesday with the un comfort we felt. Between our room and my parents room we both have very different issues. Doors looked like they were kicked in by swat then screwed back together to make it work again. There’s no view from either balcony’s beside dead mice and run down apartments and a tree line against a parking garage. So let me tell ya if you’re looking for cheap cheap with dogs and you don’t have hotel standards by all means this is your place. These pictures do no justices being as I can only add 4, but shows the outlets, molded shower curtain, door frames, and painting aka “renovation”.
