Location convenience
Shower didn't work (only the tub for a bath did) and AC didn't work. No toilet paper holder, just toilet paper sitting on back of toilet. No wash clothes. Woke up covered in welted bites all over my arms, back and even on my face.
No breakfast. No pool
Cleaner rooms. Pool availability
The only reason we continued our stay at this location was due to the view - we were right on Lake Huron.
We were told there was a pool/hot tub but they were both dirty so we did not use them and did not see anyone else use them during our stay either. We were also told they served breakfast but the lady at the front desk said they called it grab and go - we are used to the pancake/waffles, eggs, biscuits & gravy, etc - so, this was definitely not what we expected either. Lastly, the carpet in the room and the shower were not very nice. It appeared they tried to update the rooms by putting pine wood on all of the walls but the shower curtain had mildew stains at the bottom, the exhaust fan in the bathroom did not work and the carpet was old and needed replaced.
The beachfront was wonderful with the back porch. Sat out and watched the waves for a while
The over all grimy look outside and the mass of bug at the door. It was hard to get in the room without letting them all in. It was hard to find any available parking. Online said there was a breakfast included and was not able find where and no one directed me to it.
It was close to the sheplers Ferry to get to Mackinac island.
The pool was gross, the breakfast area was closed and the beach and room were dirty.
The room has a mold on the ceiling and some part of the carpet was wet. Also not so much clean. At first they didn’t do anything and after i spoke with the manager they give me a new room.
Nothing to like at all
This place is extremely run down. They stopped having breakfast and had granola bars out because they are apparently closing down the hotel. The rooms smell a lot, probably mold imfested. Very hard to breathe. We actually checked right out and ate the cost of the room because the manager refused to refud/wave fees. Horrible customer service as well.
Location & price
Male front office staff did not check me in, but help a man when he came in. By this time the female clerk was finishing up with a guest.
Thought this was rude to just let me stand there.
The room was damp, carpet was filthy and 50+ years old, everything was old and could only see TV from one of the beds, there were bugs in the room, bathroom and door between rooms barely closed due to humidity, staff was never at the desk, cars parked RIGHT in front of our room/door, wallpaper peeling off the walls
Via phone contact, we made a room reservation for the evening of Jul 09, 2025.
We arrived at approimately 7:30 pm and checked in at the front desk.
The first room smelled strongly of mildew, and we asked for another at the front desk.
The second room had dead flies on the pillows, the bathroom sink, and the kitchen counter.
The third room had hair and scum on the bathroom counter and toilet.
We decided we coundn't stay there and went to the front desk to ask for a reversal of our charges. We were refused by the clerk saying they were sorry as the charges had already gone through. We left at around 9pm the same evening (July 09th) and headed for home, not looking forward to a 4-5 hour drive.
The following day (July 10th) I called our credit card company asking to have our charges for the room reverse. I was told that an investigation would follow.
When completed it was determined, according to the hotel that we had checked out on July 10th. That is a lie. We woke up in our own beds, at home, on July 10th.
During the investigation I was asked to submit any evidence that I had to support my allegations.
I got involved in a phone conversation with a customer serivce representative from my credit card company and that person assisted me in sending photos of the room.
After receiving a letter saying that the investigation has been completed and I woudl be responsibel for the room charges, I called customer service and was told that no pictures were found.
I have asked for another investigation to be opened and am waiting for someone to contact me. At this point, I am not pleased with an investigation where there is a lack of contact from customer relations.
I will never recommend anyone stay at this location. It was disgusting and unhealthy.
Words cannot describe what a bad motel experience this was. We get put in an overpriced $230 corner cabin room. Small cramped outdated and mold smell. The bathtub had mildew. The pool was closed for repair (which can happed). However, the beach was filthy with garbage and bird crap you couldn’t use the beach. They only give you a coupon to use at a local restaurant for breakfast. You can tell the owners are only out for profit at your expense with very little to no service for you.
Our view was absolutely beautiful...two steps from our sliding door, on the sandy beach on Lake Huron! I watched the sunrise every morning we there there, and I hadn't seen the sun rise in decades!!
The breakfast room was closed, not sure why, but the sign on the door said "Sorry for the inconvenience" so maybe it's getting remodeled?
The free hot breakfast was not available, which was one of the reasons I picked Quality Inn. I requested maid service, but the room wasn't cleaned, and there was no microwave in the room. I rate Quality Inn 5.5
Not clean linens and bath commodities not there at arrival. Outside was nasty with weeds cigarettes etx.
- the pool door had mold stains on it and it was extremely warm, way too warm to get inside
- the door lock with the communicating room was not very trustable
- the door to the room was full of dead bugs and spiders
- finally no breakfast available (we had to elsewhere to get breakfast)
We had a great view of the lake from the top floor. The room was clean. It is a great place to stay.
