Beautiful property. Excellent Staff! Heidi and Tahida were amazing to work with and made sure we had everything we needed.
The nicest room / suite I’ve ever stayed in, beautiful location.
The food and drinks are expensive and I’d have paid it if the quality was right. In 2 weeks travelling around Belize this was by far the worst dining experience.
Ceviche on the Jeti: Ceviche served in small bowl in a wooden box, chips supposed to be put in box which didn’t look hygienic. Asked for knife and fork response from Barman “I must order those tomorrow!” Including a pina colada 25 US dollar for this poor service and crap food.
Dinner: BBQ Korean chop, very dry, the potato and spinach disgusting. The chef needs to try his food, this was horrible.
I think with a cocktail it was 45 US dollar. The service was lacking too as I was going to order a different cocktail and some mint ice cream but had to wait too long for someone to come.
Breakfast: ok nothing special
Not the first review about the bad food.
Beautiful, clean, lots of areas to lounge by the beach., especially the beach bar and ceviche bar
Birthday dinner was very special. Thanks to Julio and the staff at the Paddle House restaurant
This is one of the best places I’ve stayed at with my family! The staff were so friendly especially the front desk receptionist. He was very informative on everything with a tour of the property. Definitely recommend!
The staff was extremely friendly Capt. Larry greeted us every morning asked us how we were doing and even provided us suggestions for the day activities. Room was nice and clean, ocean views just like it stated in the advertisement. Must go to Ella’s the food there is amazing.
We booked this room because it had direct beach access the pictures show clear blue water but during our stay the water was a dirty brown color with seaweed and a order that hits you before you even walk onto the property. This happens every year around this time after to speaking with the locals it can last for a full month. Front desk try to down play it, but there should be a Disclaimer stating from the last week of Jul to the second or third week of August don’t expect to have beach access or blue water. This was so upsetting as we had to pay additional $280 dollars US, to go to a private island for the day and enjoy what we thought we were getting.
Great place, pretty rooms, staff was friendly and attentive. Cool bar over the water.
Restaurant could have been been better food but the atmosphere was great!
The rooms were outstanding, the amenities top notch and customer service was phenomenal. Julio checked us in and made sure we were well taken care of.
The bartenders are so awesome!
The bathrooms had cockroach and they were coming from the bath sinkhole. It is avoidable.
Very kind staff
Daily fi
Loved the evening campfire and marshmallows and the dock is incredible
It was great
The location was great - the view was terrific - our room was wonderful and looked out across the beach to the ocean!
We enjoyed walking on the beach everyday, it goes on for kms.
We enjoyed borrowing the free bikes and going for a ride every morning.
The Paddle Wheel restaurant was very nice, and had a great location, with open doors to an ocean view.
The Big Dock and covered hut was great - really enjoyed it for ocean watching and moon gazing.
The beach had ocean trash on it every day, that some days was raked up, but most days was not raked.
The Paddle Wheel Restaurant was too expensive to use for all our meals.
The Big Dock was great for jumping off, but the swim-up ladder was impossible to climb back up on!
I loved everything about this property, the staff were incredible, the food, the facilities... we had the best stay ever. We would highly recommend, 20/10 stay at the Colonial. Chris looked after us the whole time we were there and we saw him make an effort and look after all the guests, he always went the extra mile. Captain Larry was also really kind and insightful- he always went out of his way to make recommendations and check we were having a great time.
There wasn't anything that we didn't love, you must stay here
Loved our stay in the Mahogany beachfront suite. The hotel grounds were spotless and the staff was always available for anything we needed. Enjoyed lunch in the main restaurant and had a nice dinner at the pizza restaurant. Tried to get ceviche one evening but they were closed at 7:10 despite a posted closing time of 7:30. Kayaks and a sailboat are available for guest use and we found them to be in good condition. The location is a bit out of town so you need some kind of transportation if you want to leave the resort. We used the complimentary bicycles to go to Hopkins Village during the day but the bikes are not an option for dinner as they have to be back by 5pm. We would stay again.
