Das Hotel ist schon einige Jahrzehnte alt, aber immer noch gut gepflegt.

Die Lage ist kaum zu toppen in Cairns. Auch die Aussicht von der Lounge in der 9.Etage ist bestimmt eine der besten in Cairns .

Centrally located for shops, restaurants, markets, walks along waterfront and next to marina for boat trips…..but also quiet.
All staff were very professional and spoke good English on all shifts. There was always someone available and others came when busy. A particular mention to Ena who answered all our questions professionally and with a smile.
The doorman was very helpful and polite and took cases from the taxi to hotel room and always had a greeting.

I had a totally seamless arrival with an extremely warm welcome, including meeting GM Scott. The guest experience begins the moment you arrive. The check-in team — Alexandra, Yuko, Arun and Lucy — were professional, warm and completely effortless. Efficient yet personal, they made me feel recognised and valued immediately. It is clear that guest experience is deeply embedded in the culture here.

Leadership is clearly driven from the top. General Manager Scott was exceptional — not only offering thoughtful restaurant recommendations but proactively securing us a booking. (Highly recommend Vine Room and Waterbar & Grill Steakhouse.)

I was given a Spa Room on Level 8 which was brilliant. Spacious and beautifully styled, the spa bath comes complete with bath crystals! The king bed is so relaxing and plush that I had my first sleep in for years, finally emerging at 8am! The views from the rooms are simply sensational — sunrise over the inlet and golden afternoon light reflecting off the marina. Sitting on the privvate balcony with a Wolf Lane G&T in hand is the perfect way to relax after a full day (and I had some lime and a platter of fruit to go with it).

Operations lead Mahasin and Jonathan ensured our entire team felt incredibly well looked after, with amazing room allocations and thoughtful touches throughout our stay.

The Executive Lounge on the 9th floor offers wonderful views across Trinity Inlet and the mountains beyond. It provides a relaxing spot (plus breakfast and evening canapés and drinks). Worth considering as a value add.

Cafe Sunrise on the ground floor offers a buffet breakfast served overlooking the water with floor-to-ceiling views. Highlights are numerous: Incredible omelettes made to order, a generous hot buffet selection, fresh pastries and tropical fruit, proper, hot, great coffee. Anne and Kiki were standouts — attentive, warm, proactive and genuinely delightful. They elevated what was already a beautiful breakfast into a memorable experience.

Gin Social is also on the ground floor and offers a fantastic cocktail list and a variety of seating options — perfect for informal meetings, catching up with friends, or simply enjoying the vibe. The atmosphere strikes a great balance between relaxed and sophisticated.

Our group of 8 utilised the Glass Boardroom (on the ground level) which was the best of the best. Super comfortable chairs, clean, modern design, seamless tech setup AND outstanding catering.
The catering deserves special mention — the roast pepper, pesto and goat’s cheese focaccia was a personal favourite, closely followed by the BLT. (The Events team in Laura and Ebony were excellent - making it so smooth and easy - and taking away the stress often associated with offsite meetings.)

Diego from the Food & Beverage and Events team was exceptional. Tech savvy and solutions-focused, he seamlessly connected us via Teams to the rest of the world and ensured we had coffee, food and everything we needed — all delivered with calm (and quiet) professionalism.

Quite simply, the Food & Beverage and Events team are the best.

Hilton Cairns is fabulous on every level — location, rooms, food, views, service and leadership. The culture is clearly guest-first, with attention to detail at every touchpoint.

If you are visiting Cairns — whether for business or leisure — this is without question the only place to stay.
