Good location, nice and clean rooms.
This is fraud. I booked and paid for 3 nights, including breakfast. They accept bookings and payments for breakfast for the weekend, knowing they don't offer breakfast on Saturday and Sunday. The restaurant is closed. They don't offer an alternative place to go for breakfast, and they don't refund the breakfasts you've already paid for upfront. Complaining to staff results in them saying 'the manager will contact you', and then... you don't hear anything anymore. A rip-off.
I was warmly welcomed by the reception on Friday evening, and the room was nice. You could change the color of the lightings depending on your mood, and it could even give you a relaxed feeling under the shower. The breakfast staff were really friendly, and you can walk a short distance to admire the Capitol complex.
The location was great
Bathrooms and the room inside.
No coffee machine, nor any option to get coffee inside the hotel
Second trip to Yotel for Rare Disease Week. Location near Capitol Hill is perfect. Staff was friendly and helpful, room was wonderful and clean.
Could use a better, longer hours food service.
Clean, great standard of housekeeping
Good sized room
Location, there is even a trolley tour stop opposite the hotel. A short walk from the train station too
Friendly staff
No tea or coffee making facilities in the room (but there is a fridge).
The bar and restaurant was only open till 8pm when we arrived, and was closed Saturday and Sunday, not ideal but, there is a corner bakery near Union Station and a store on the corner.
Nasty people in the lobby, minimally assisting people but more like making sure you don’t sit in the wrong place or check in 5 mins early. No general room lights. You can go to the bathroom in the dark. Phone in room is just for show and not connected to anything. Would not recommend!!!!
The staff were friendly and the room was clean. Good location.
Check in and the foyer stinks of pot.
Take the lift upstairs and am unluckily next to the elevator. I discover the walls are paper-thin, so I enjoy the raucous guests returning all through the night shouting their goodnights along the corridor.
Rooms are so weird, could not work the lights out. Light for the mirror seemed non-existent, so my make-up was applied in the perpetual twilight the next morning.
Neighbour arrived home just before 9pm and played his tv till 3am. Did I mention the paper-thin walls? I heard all the games plus every moan, groan, sigh and fart.
Then there is the weird "resort charge". It includes a $10 credit that you can use at their on-site restaurant. Since we arrived quite late, it was already closed but we thought we would use it at breakfast the next morning. The lady that seated us, said yes we got the credit. So we ate breakfast there ($18 + tax/tip rather than $28 + tax/tip). It was quite good, but not worth US$30. However, when we went to check out we were told the $10 credit only applied the day before and not the day you check out and you don't get a credit the day you check out!!! I mean when were we supposed to use it when the restaurant wasn't even open when we arrived? Why wouldn't you apply the credit from check-in time to check-out time? It felt like a deliberate and misleading ripoff, especially as we had checked we could use it before we sat down to breakfast. And so unnecessary - I mean if the "resort fee" is compulsory, then just include it in the main fee and be done with it and stop pretending the hotel is cheaper than it actually is.
So the paper-thin walls will mean I never go back, but the "resort fee" and lack of breakfast credit, just really topped a terrible night off.
Staying for a volleyball tournament and just found out the restaurant does not open on weekends so there is no onsite breakfast/food option. Even better, they don't have coffee here.
There wasn't anything that I didn't like about Yotel.
I liked all facets of my stay at Yotel.
Convenient location, just a few minutes away from Union Station. The room is spacious and very comfortable. The mood lights are great.
Rooms should have a coffee machine or at least an electric water kettle for tea/coffee. The hotel should provide real toilet paper instead of the annoying little square sheets of paper. The hotel bar should remain open till later than 6 PM.
The hotel charges $100 a night deposit which is returned at the end of the stay. They mysteriously kept $8.00 from my deposit with no explanation!
