It’s a lightly refurbished Motel 6
Pros:

The one thing this hotel has going for it is - it is directly on the beach. But it’s literally a lightly refurbished Motel 6. They did a nice job remodeling the lobby and that’s where it ends. The rest of the entire exterior only got a paint job. The rooms were lightly updated with new floor, paint and tiles but unfortunately you can’t put lipstick on a pig. Furthermore, as much as I saw a lot of people cleaning, the windows are filthy. Walkways have bird poop all over them and the beach is full of trash. Couldn’t stay. Just couldn’t do it.

Falling asleep to the sound of the ocean was fantastic.
Pros:

I like the location on the beach as well as the available cold plunge and sauna.

Cons:

Can only find one water refill station and ice machine. I’m sure I can find more ice machines but. Didn’t look that hard.

A must visit hotel
Pros:

My husband and I came here to celebrate our anniversary and explore Monterey and we couldn’t have asked for a better hotel. The location along the beach was unbeatable. Walking into the lobby and being greeted by an unobstructed view of the crashing waves took my breath away. The staff were very friendly and welcoming upon check in, giving us the run down on all of the lovely amenities the property has to offer. Rebekah from the front desk was even available to us via text during our stay to ensure any needs we had were met and any questions we had were answered. As for the rooms, they are very clean, comfortable and cozy. So clean in fact that after walking around the room in white socks, they remained white. I would recommend getting an ocean facing room on an upper level of the hotel to get the best view. It was very peaceful at night and the only thing we could hear was the waves lulling us to sleep. Overall it was an incredible stay for an incredible price. Other stays with less amenities were a little cheaper but in the same ball park so I would personally stay here again because I think I would be very disappointed if I chose any other hotel.
