unique and great fun!
Pros:

Made famous by the Amazing hotels Beyond The Lobby TV Series and recommended by our luxury travel agent, Wimeya Private Travel, the resort absolutely delivered against our high expectations. We stayed 4 nights and loved everything

Thank you for a memorable stay in beautiful Nusfjord
Pros:

I booked a stay at Nusfjord Village and Resort for my parents because I wanted them to experience one of the most special places we have here in Lofoten, where I live. From the moment they arrived, everything was just perfect.

The service was excellent – the staff were so welcoming and helpful with anything we asked or needed. My parents were absolutely blown away by how stunning Nusfjord is, how cozy and charming the cottages are, and how amazing the food was.

Thank you so much for creating such a memorable stay for them. We’ll definitely be coming back!

Magical Arctic Resort
Pros:

It’s wildly challenging to put into words how lovely this respect was. The location, the views, the atmosphere were all phenomenal and the staff made you feel like you were visiting someone’s home. We stayed in one of the fisherman’s cottages that was more private and away from the village were day tourists can walk through. Our accommodation was very comfortable. The cough was cozy, the balcony was marvelous and the kitchen was well stocked ( one bed likely needs an updated mattress but that may just be me being particular). The meals were all something to write home about (highly recommended the onsite pizza restaurant and cafe as well). Already planning another stay

Fabulous, would highly recommend!
Pros:

We had high expectations of Nusfjord Resort…and it didn’t let us down! It was the perfect end to our two week trip to Norway. The cabin was sensational with the most amazing views over the fjord…everything was perfect. The team at reception were so welcoming and helpful and were key to us getting to see the Northern Lights! We would definitely recommend Nusfjord, and we’ll be going back!

Pros:

Absolutely phenomenal hotel. We were in a cozy cocoon there in the tiny village of Nusfjord. Incredibly comfortable rooms, cozy beds, heated floors. We also enjoyed really wonderful massages, the sauna and ocean plunge and the amazing restaurants. We did not want to leave! Thanks to the Nusfjord staff.

Pros:

The property is well appointed. The main restaurant where breakfast was served was excellent. The bar and lounge overlooking the water was also nice. Service was professional but in certain regards a bit inflexible. I told the front desk that the mattress was exceedingly soft and needed to be replaced or a support placed under it. I don’t think much of an attempt was made to do anything about this.

Beautiful Nusfjord
Pros:

Beautiful structure in a very quiet corner of Lofoten Islands. We stayed in a Superior Cabin beautifully furnished and organised. The view was outstanding. The restaurant Karoline for dinner and breakfast was amazing, with very good vegetarian options too. We hope we will come back to experience such peace and nature that only Lofoten can offer.

Outstanding Norwegian Experience! A beautifully decorated room and incredibly comfortable bedding with wonderful staff.
Pros:

We LOVED our stay at Njusfjord! With the exception of the check in process in the pouring rain with not a lot of direction on where to park, the remaining 4 nights and 5 days were absolute perfection. RIB tour with Eduardo, massage with Alena and the wait staff (Birgit etc.) who were so attentive and back to the front desk who helped direct us on our travels all over Lofoten, we couldn’t pick a better place to land. The cabin was beautifully decorated in a Norwegian style. We love embracing the architecture and interiors of places where we travel and our cabin was beautifully appointed. The bedding was like sleeping in a soft cloud. And the food! It was incredible. At Karoline, the pizza, the bakery. We will be back! One of the few places we’ve visited where we want to return. And we live in California…so it’s quite the journey but well worth it!

really disappointing
Pros:

We arrived in torrential rain before the check in time. There was minimal help given in regard to being able to park our rental car without being soaked. When we did eventually have access to our cabin we found it to be absolutely soulless and drab. The single beds in our room were very narrow. The furniture and fittings were very basic. The only redeeming feature of this location is the Karoline restaurant where we had lunch once it was open and dinner, both of which were really good, and the local bakery where we had coffee the next morning. Whilst I understand the desire to present authenticity in the outside appearance and the setting of the accommodation we had this should not excuse making the accommodation suitable for those on holiday. Not that this was a primary consideration for us but this property is hugely overpriced and extremely poor value. Any mark given is solely because the food was good. Avoid!

Overpriced and very basic accommodation
Pros:

Know what you’re getting into this is a very basic accommodation, with corrugated metal sheet ceilings. I had a “Harbour Cabin Suite” which did it actually face the harbour, but the parking lot in the back. The vibe is “rustic” and too expensive for the very basic room. There is very little space in the bathroom for toiletries or hanging towels and there is only glass on one side of the shower so inevitably water sprays everywhere on the bathroom walls and floor. It was too expensive for the low standard of the room overall.

As previous reviewers have said there are many tourists just strolling in front of your window. If you’re used to modern sleek comfortable accommodations (there really is only henninsvaer brygghotel in Lofoten which is actually luxury) this isn’t for you (or me..!). If you must stay somewhere south (between Leknes and Å) then stay here for only one night. Karolina restaurant is okay.

Beauty all around
Pros:

This place is unique and magic! We stayed at cabin #22 practically on the water. Private and peaceful with amazing views. Super cute and historic bakery and several options for dining and light meals.
Thank you to Micaela for a warm welcome at the reception!

Beautiful views but dirty cottages
Pros:

Beautiful village with charming cottages and stunning views, at least for the premium ones. Unfortunately, the accommodation was not as clean as expected for over $1,500 per night. We found dirty dishes, a previous guest’s dirty sock under a bed, non-working utilities, and power sockets falling out of the wall.

The restaurant was outstanding. Dinner at Hotel Karolina was superb, and breakfast was excellent.

The pizza place was underwhelming, largely due to an apathetic staff member. The pizzas are probably fine normally, but ours were not.

Overall, this is very expensive mid-tier accommodation in a quaint historic fishing village. Stay for the views and the restaurant, but look elsewhere if you want true luxury.

A day that will be remembered for a long time
Pros:

We had the pleasure of going on a fishing trip with a very nice crew. They assisted us in every way with knowledge and practical help. I had invited family from abroad who had never picked up a fishing rod. Everyone who was on the trip caught fish, and everyone gave undivided positive feedback. It couldn't have been a nicer trip. Pros:

One of the coziest and nicest small hotels we have ever stayed. Super appropriate for the place. Perfectly blends with the environment. So many details around. Became an important part of our experience and our whole Lofoten trip.

Amazing location
Pros:

If you like somewhere new and different to visit then Nusfjord is the place for you. The location is absolutely stunning and the cabins are furnished to a very high standard while preserving the classic features. Other reviews have noted the lack of wardrobe space or drawers and I think that is something for the team to consider as this would avoid the need to live out of packing cubes or a suitcase. This issue was very minor though and otherwise the attention to detail was impeccable. The housekeeping team were very helpful and provided plenty of new towels and coffee pods etc. The wifi works extremely well in all parts of the resort.

The quality of the food surpassed my expectations in the cafe, restaurant and pizza tavern. There is also a newly opened bar with live music which is a great addition. The bartender makes great gimlet cocktails! There may be limited vegetarian options in the restaurant if you are staying for a few nights but the wine list is incredible! There is also a lounge upstairs from the restaurant which has the same beautiful view. The interior decoration is fabulous in Karoline restaurant and the cafe and the traditional features are very well preserved. The bakery is also very attractive and sells delicious traditional cakes. The team in the pizza restaurant are very helpful and accommodating and make very authentic Italian pizzas.

The weather is understandably variable and unfortunately this meant that the hotel had to cancel some of the outdoor activities that we had pre-booked. It is quite tricky to navigate the island without a car so it may be worth the hotel considering a partnership with some local tour companies so that visitors can see some of the rest of the island. We booked our own tour but it was quite difficult to book one at short notice that would do pick up and drop off from Nusfjord. The island is so beautiful that it would be a shame to miss out on visiting some other beautiful villages and beaches.

It is possible to do some short hikes from the resort to a lake and also a lighthouse but the ground can get very muddy if it has been raining (which is likely!). We were not brave enough to tackle the walk to Nesland which I think would need dry conditions.

The hotel can arrange transfers to the airport and these were very efficient and the drivers were very friendly and helpful and provided us with a lot of information. Leknes airport is very small and does not have a cafe!

Fantastic
Pros:

We stayed in house no. 39 (front right in the photo), slightly elevated and set back, simply marvellous. Nusfjord was a unique and very special experience, the highlight of our entire round trip. Exceptionally good 3-course menu ‘Taste of Lofoten’ in the Karoline restaurant.
