One of the worst hotels I’ve ever stayed at. As a person who has studied the hospitality industry this hotel needs some real work.
Reception was no at all welcoming nor helpful, I mean the whole point of reception is making the guest feel comfortable and welcomed as it’s the first interaction with the property. After I deal with reception and check in, I enter my room and the bathroom is shocking it was poorly cleaned/ maintained.
There were cracks, hair and stains all over the shower, you could also see the wallpaper peeling off and different forms of patchy work. The reusable shampoo dispensers were obviously never cleaned or refilled. Another major issue we had in the bathroom was no hot water I’m not sure if we’re living in the ancient times or something but absolutely no hot water. When calling several times and being ignored to have it checked/fixed finally they sent a repair man and later another showed up and later another, it took 3 technicians to make the water to Luke warm…. 3 technicians … The mattresses also have obviously not had their routine change as they were soft and lumpy.
Listen as mentioned before I’ve worked and studied hospitality/hotels so I always give properties & staff the benefit of the doubt but in this case, no way! The only good thing about this hotel would be the doorman, now he was the definition of how to interact and treat guests.
This is a Marriott hotel, a chain brand, you have standards to meet and for a 4-star hotel I know for a fact this property did not meet the standards. Do better. Absolutely disgraceful.
This is a pleasant hotel with a pleasant staff.
The hotel is somewhat noisy for sleeping. Nothing can be done about the sirens and traffic outside. However, the elevators are quite noisy at night. Some of the noise is sheer mechanics, but the elevators also play music, and the volume is too loud at night. I could hear the elevator music each time someone used the elevator on my floor (26th).

I am a directing manager at a large bank in Europe, I came to New York with family but this hotel ruined my experience from the beginning. I arrived from overseas trying to get some rest at 11 PM. The bed was WET and had a SMELL. The entire room smelled like wet rag.
The front desk told me that they will come RIGHT AWAY to clean the room. So I waited, and I waited, and I WAITED. 12 AM, 12:30 AM, 1AM, and nothing. The front desk stopped picking up calls, completely ghosted. Such hospitality. I wonder if I paid them or they did paid me.
Eventually, I fell asleep fully dressed waiting for them in the wet sheets. My greatest first NYC night experience.
When complained the next day, I was told “you have no extra charges on your room so we cannot compensate”. Yes, I didn’t exactly want to order champagne when my bed is wet, did I?
No mini-fridge, AC messed up, very small room, humid, can touch the ceilings with my hands. American standard? No idea. Don’t stay here and don’t bring your family here.
By the way, want to keep your luggage there? $3 per item. Never seen this, such a scam.
The location is great- a really close walk from Grand Central and it's a very walkable location to everything in midtown. The bed was so comfy too.

I am a Bonvoy platinum level traveler who has already spent 50 nights this year in Marriott properties.
This hotel has major problems. Many of the rooms have broken air conditioning, resulting in you having to switch rooms.
They almost never upgrade you to a better room no matter your status.
Got checked into a room that had no towels. Took over 90 minutes, 3 phone calls and a trip to the lobby for resolution. The resolution was to send me 3 towels one of which was dirty.
Calls from your room to the operator will never be answered.
This is an obviously poorly run facility in desperate need of improved management.
The food quality for breakfast is extremely poor.
On the upside the hotel is well located and the beds are extremely comfortable.
