No elevators, pool had peeling paint, included breakfast was a joke compared to the Sherman Inn which provided homemade big breakfast and was cheaper per night!!! ( no vacancies) The outside door wasn't locked .
Beautiful view of the St. Lawrence River. Loved the balcony room. Loved having a keurig coffee maker in the room. Comfortable bed and clean room.
It’s a little pricey. And as usual, the check in clerk spoke very fast concerning the check in process so I had to ask him to repeat himself. It’s all routine for them, but a little eye contact and less rushed would be nice and different.

My stay was 3 nights. Very disappointing to have no room service during the 3 nights. Coffee pod and water for one day. No beds made or trash emptied. I have never stayed at any hotel/motel that had 0 service of the room for the entire stay. Air conditioning did not cool. Complained and maintenance never showed up. Sink leaked around faucet and under sink. Portable dehumidifier placed by sink blowing warm air on me while I used sink. Very noisy had to empty 3 or 4 times a day. Have stayed at this motel several times over the years. Terrible customer and room service. Deluxe breakfast??? Bagel or toast, juice coffee and cereal. No hot food. Remodeling at restaurant so not open for dinner. None of the features was advertised. I would have chosen another hotel had I known how bad Ascend is compared to previous Quality. Certainly not worth the $200 a night.

Love the location and facilities in general. Nice to hear of new ownership and upcoming improvements. Will definitely come back during warmer weather.
The room temperature was 84 degrees with no way to cool down. Tried to call the front desk on the house phone using the Front Desk button, only to get a busy signal all night. The restaurant was closed for remodeling, and "Free breakfast" was disappointing (since the kitchen was closed). The steps on the adjacent building had rust stains that looked more like dried blood- a bit disconcerting

Thief willingness to help make a change. The appointment we were going to changed and they went out of their way to help us.
Nothing. Rooms were nice, great food, did get noisey about 2 am, but we managed.
We were there for 1 night, and it worked for us. When we checked in, the staff gave us warm chocolate chip cookies.....very nice!! The room was small, but just right for us. Everything was clean for being an older place. Shower was good and warm, and the beds and pillows seemed comfortable.
There was coffee available in the room, however, it looked like there was some offered in the little lobby downstairs, but there was just creamer. It was fine. My husband was able to make his own coffee in our room.

The view is amazing. The rooms were nice and warm and clean.
Just wish the booking app was updated with correct check in time as we had to waste 2 hours before we could check in and we weren’t familiar with the area.
