Interior was beautiful. Smelt lovely and was very clean. Beds and room very comfortable
Overall, we had a lovely stay and found the hotel to be beautiful. The reception staff were excellent — they were warm, welcoming and took the time to help us get set up on the hotel app, which we really appreciated.
Unfortunately, two experiences during our stay detracted from what was otherwise a very enjoyable visit.
On our first night, we were celebrating a 60th birthday. We returned to the hotel at approximately 11:35–11:40 pm and went to the bar for a drink. We were told by Shannon that the bar was closed and that we would not be served. However, there were still two residents seated at the bar with full drinks. While we understand that bars have closing times, and it stipulates 12:00 on website which was 20 minute before closing when we arrived the interaction felt abrupt and lacked any flexibility or customer service, particularly given the special occasion we were celebrating. We left feeling disappointed.
The following evening, we ordered two glasses of Malbec and one glass of Cabernet Sauvignon. The barman, Ed, did not ask what size glasses we wanted and automatically served three large glasses of wine. As my friend was paying while we were chatting, she did not realise the total cost until after the transaction had been completed. The bill came to £64 for three glasses of wine, which we felt was exceptionally expensive.
When we explained that we would not have ordered large glasses had we been given the option and would instead have chosen small glasses, Ed continued working while we were speaking and did not engage with our concerns. My friend even commented, “He’s not even listening to you,” to which he replied, “I am listening, I’m multitasking.” However, he still did not acknowledge our complaint or attempt to discuss the issue, and avoided further engagement for the remainder of the interaction.
We fully appreciate that pricing is set by the hotel, but customers should always be given the choice of glass size before an order is served.

Excellent emplacement, vue somptueuse, très belle chambre. Mention spéciale à Archie à la réception qui a été adorable et très souriant.

Located in the heart of Edinburgh New town
Close to the railway station, shops and bars. A walk away from Old Town and the Castle.
There was no fridge in the room. The pillows were not hotel grade. In fact they were very low quality.
Location is excellent, on Prince street. You cannot get more convenient.
Breakfast was really good. Real rashers and sausages cooked properly.
