The staff service was excellent.
Clean , staff very courteous & helpful . Credit to a housekeeping guy @ the lobby who offered me a chair, seeing me standing , thank you & very much appreciated.
WiFi did not work until our second day and about to check out the following day. Bed sheet had holes. Staff are super friendly and housekeeper for the afternoon-evening shift is excellent in servicing customers. She made sure there was no holes or stains in when she changed my sheet. No soda machine available in the entire bldg after the kitchen closes at 10pm. No BIDET in the bathroom. They should renovate and attach a bidet. I would have given it a 5star for cleanliness had it been because of the whole on the sheets and STAIN on the mattress pad (pee like stain)
Whoever gave this hotel any rating above 2 must have gone to a different hotel. We will never go there again. The ONLY positive was the staff: They are great. But here is my comment on the facilities taken from my personal journal at the time.
When we walked into the room, the only thing there was a bed and small side tables in each side: No desk or table, no chairs, no water boiler for coffee etc., no phone to call the front desk. Only the bed and a large flat screen TV. Immediately they asked if we want a table and chairs, Yes! of course. So those were brought: A small table, not for working on. Hence even more tips for the man who brought the table and chairs.
Then the water and bathroom: When we used the toilet we discovered there is no bidet. When we tried the water for shower or to wash our face, (a) the water flow was weak and (b) it never got hot only lukewarm. When we asked about a water boiler for our coffee etc., they do not have them. But there is a water dispenser in the hallway with cold, medium, and hot water. Inconvenient, but at least it is there—until it is not there as in last night when we each wanted a hot drink but the dispenser was empty. Even the next morning, it was empty. I had to take my cup down to the 6th floor to get my hot water.
Loved it.
Staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was large with large bathroom and clean comfortable bed. Close to restaurants and a very convenient laundry service nearby.
But it was in poor condition with paint damage to walls, broken wall tiles in the bathroom and no hot water, no bar fridge and sounded like a generator running at most times outside except late at night.
An old hotel with a cheap, shody makeover. The wifi doesn’t reach inside the room so you sit in the corridor. The A/C is an old noisy window unit. There is no fridge, no kettle, no breakfast, the shower has no pressure, the taps are falling off the wall, as is the toilet roll holder. The powerpoint is broken. The water cooler in the hall was empty and never refilled. And then they want a deposit in case something breaks. You can do much better.
no water kettle, no phone in room, no room service, cable tv was bad. it was a decent hotel
The hotel is good, clean, the location is good you can walk to stores and restaurants. You can walk to Burnham park.
The staff are nice. The area safe.
Clean and nice facility
Not too bad and staff are all nice. Not enough amenities and no drawers in the room either.
Had high hopes for this hotel given the decent and brightly lit reception. Upon entering the room, we found it to be initially clean with nice and fluffy towels with the travelite logo on it. However, the following nights, gone were the fluffy white towels to be replaced with greyish old ones for the rest of our stay? Were the new towels on the first night just for show? We also found chestnut shells under the bed and outside the room in the hallway. Perhaps unswept from a previous guest? The hallways had a musty dried fish smell that greeted us everytime we exited the lift. Thankfully no smell in the room. We ordered and paid for an extra bed but found it hard and uncomfortable and one could feel the springs when you laid down on it. Surprised that there wasn’t a phone in the room and no safety deposit box nor was there a refrigerator (all basic things one would expect from a hotel). The daily replenishment of amenities and water bottles were much appreciated. The bathroom tiles had visible black and pink mould in the grout and edges. And the wall paint in the room was peeling. Room was dark with insufficient lighting. The breakfast at their restaurant, Abacus, was poor with no thought and gave school canteen vibes. Breakfast for the sake of serving breakfast. On our second day, we came back late in the afternoon after a long day of sightseeing to an unserviced room even though we hung the “make up our room” sign on the door AND informed a housekeeping staff that morning for our room to be cleaned. Upon enquiring at reception, our room was promptly and urgently cleaned but this meant we had to sit down in the lobby for an extended period of timw so our room could be serviced. After a long day out, this wasn’t ideal. Reception then informed us that we had to let them know every morning when we wanted to have our room cleaned. This is fine but there were no explicit instructions advising this. One would think that hanging the sign on the door is enough. Location is very good on Legarda St with a lot of restaurants and eateries within walking distance. Bell staff who assisted us with our bags was warm and helpful. However, restaurant staff during breakfast were unsmiling, lacked warmth and seemed a bit lost. Though front desk staff attended and actioned our requests and queries, their service lacked warmth, with requests actioned in a “robotic” manner you almost wished you didn’t ask. Perhaps additional training in the basic tenets of customer service could be explored by management? Basic accomodation ok for an overnight stay. For the price, very reasonable so long as you temper your expectations. Could have the potential to be a decent establishment if changes to staff attitude and room refreshes were made. Sadly, we will not be back.
Likes (in no order): (1) Downtown location- close to the action but not much noise. (2) Ample and well maintained basement parking; (3) Reasonable rates; (4) Very clean- facilities and room; (5) Very spacious lounging area in lobby; (6) Very spacious room; (7) clean, comfy blankets; (8) decent internet connection
Dislikes: (1) There's a desk in the room, but no chair. (2) Pillow is soft but one tall lump; (3) No bidet- provided a dipper (see photo) That one's just hilarious; (4) weak water pressure; (5) Poor detail finishing in the room- e.g. sealant, caulking, stripping paint, many scratches, etc.; (6) Sparse furnishing- e.g. There's only one square table for triple room, No night tables, No bedside lamps; (7) Very unresponsive staff whether to calls, sms or viber
Fast internet
Perfect for a quick get away and staycation
The property itself is good. It is walkable to some But the housekeeping staff were kind off noisy to the point that you can hear them inside the room.
Great
Friendly staff, very attentive and very courteous. I highly recommend this hotel.
Clean and nice
Great location and the staff greats you and helped you out with your luggage before you get in there check in desk. I’m especially very grateful for the staff who get a Taxi for us and then helped us load our luggage.
