The service, specially the restaurant, is absolutely great. I was feeling very well due to heat changes, and our server gave me a specially made drink that helped me with it
I liked how friendly the front desk person was! and she provided a room change with two queens instead of the king for my sister and me, very nice surprise! She recommended Lodge #4 as closest to the pool when I mentioned my sister walked with a cane and even fell that morning getting into the rental car in phoenix, so we wanted to be close to the pool. I like that way early am I could quietly leave room and go over by the snack shop and get a quick breakfast and coffee.
"what could have been better?" 1. When checking in, I mentioned my sister walks with a cane and was having a rough day, she fell getting into the rental car in Phoenix, so could we please have a room close to the pool, and she accommodated lodge #4, as was closest to the pool. The next day I was able to take a walk around the grounds, but my sister could not. It was such a shame as it was a beautiful morning and she was up and would have loved it. We decided to try to have her walk at least to the pool but she could not walk that far and had to turn around and go back to the room... It occurred to me at 10:30 a.m. that perhaps the hotel had a wheelchair and I flagged a person down in a maintenance cart and they called the front desk and sure enough they did. I went from lodge 4 to the front desk to get it as it was nearing check out time by then, and I wanted to get my sister to the pool. (they gave us additional check out time and It was very easy to sign the form). If I had reserved it ahead of time likely the staff would have brought it. Anyway, I was able to get her to the pool area, for only 15 min dip, but unfortunately no time to stroll her around the grounds - what a pity. So I wish the front desk had offered the information about the wheelchair when I checked in, especially after I had disclosed the compromised walking capability of my sister. So while the hotel was worth the value to me, it was not to my sister as she didn't get to enjoy the pool but for a second, and didn't get to see the grounds. So the dollar value was too pricey for what we got, but sadly it didn't need to be. Therefore my rating of the staff is a four (friendly nice, etc.) but my rating of check-in experience was only a 3 because of the lack of wheelchair suggestion. Walking the grounds was a 2 because only half the party could do it. Lessons learned, I blame myself for not thinking.
The room was spotlessly clean and well-stocked — water, coffee, everything you'd need was provided. The view of the forest was a lovely bonus, and the overall atmosphere felt calm and comfortable.
There was nothing that stood out as a negative. Perhaps the only minor thing is that the hotel is not in the center of town, but the peaceful forest surroundings more than make up for it.
Excellent rooms. Very clean. One of the best kept and clean hotels that we have stayed. I highly recommend it.
It was very beautiful place. I love how they have bathrooms separated from the mirrors and sinks. Very nice spacious room and comfortable beds.
It’s a beautiful area near the hiking trail.
Cute modern hotel room in a good location with all the amenities. Beds were nice!
