The location was good. The bathroom and rooms was very clean. The staff was very nice and helpful.
Hotel was very noisy. Had to move my room to a different floor because of the noise. Didnt Like the crowd of people coming to the nightclub. Hard to get thru sometimes to the front door. Air conditioning was not working in the hallways and elevators and cleaning staff using guest elevators to get around to different floors.
A small fridge would be wonderful. Maybe one more coffee by default would be nice.
The aesthetic. Well decorated. Clean. Good bar cocktails.
The shower. Overhead faucet did not work. Only handheld slightly worked.
Celebrating my birthday In New York this amazing hotel was a highlight. Everyone was so nice the staff, the amazing smells inside the hotel, the decorations the rooms were so clean everything was beautiful and made my birthday celebration so special. Thank you for the staff and everyone who worked on August 15, 2026.
Location and vibe
Second stay. Just as great as the first. Ideal location to do almost anything on the island (and get in/out of the 3 airports). Rooms are nice. Great AC. Great shower. Desk to work. Floor to ceiling windows. Great staff. What more can you ask?
The Chelsea location of the Renaissance Hotel is terrific. It is close to everything.
The Carne Restaurant is a hidden gem. The food and the service were superb. We especially enjoyed the salmon entrees and the Caesar salads.
The bar in the reception area on the first floor is also very welcoming. It is located in the busiest part of the hotel, providing plenty of opportunities for people watching while sipping your favorite libation.
A nice surprise:
We arrived during an intense heat wave. I was impressed that the hotel was encouraging guests to help themselves to free bottles of water to keep us hydrated.
I wish the gym was a little bigger— but, I always say that… it was clean and adequate.

Staff were average, room was just ok.
Have to pay for wifi. Could never get a connection.
Area around hotel is not very nice.
The room was nice and spacious.
I had the worst experience with checking in. Upon arrival , even though I pre-payed for my stay, the guy at the front desk insisted I give my card after I told him I already paid. An hour later they deducted over $900 and I queried it. Another lady working checked and said they had made a mistake on their side. Being it was a Saturday check in I had to wait until Monday to be refunded.

They have a lovely rooftop terrace, but at night they used to host parties for adults only, at a high additional cost. Perhaps they could establish free time slots so passengers could enjoy the amazing views.
