Huge Moths problem inside the hotel. We booked and checked in, but have to checkout in a few hours, realizing a dozen of moths in the room. The front desk explained that it was a common problem, but we found a few hotels without the problem within 5 min drive.
Not so good. When we arrived at the Courtyard it did not look the same as the photos on the Marriott website. The hotel desperately needs to be refurbished, the carpet was worn, some of the outlet plugs did not work & the shower was very small.
Also they did not honor the complimentary breakfast for Platinum Elite. When I asked about it they said we could purchase breakfast but they don’t include. When I shared we typically get breakfast included, the lady at the front desk said other Marriott members had said the same thing. Overall we would not recommend this hotel.
PROs: the building is a desert inspired venue with wonderful care of the grounds and careful landscaping choices. This is a family but also business laid back resort with games area, a very nice pool and an equally nice restaurant. Not the usual Courtyard menu, neither for breakfast nor for dinner. VERY nice patios on opposite sides of the property, fire pits, ping pong, nice lobby lounge with fireplace etc.
Fine view for many rooms, towards Powell Lake. Floor to ceiling windows add to the experience.
CONs: from such a nice hotel, you feel kind of saddened when the rooms remind you of mainland old Courtyards.
CONCLUSIONS: Very nice medium-priced property in a spectacular setting.
It gives more than a usual Courtyard, way more.
They might know the type of market segment they have to stay in, but it could easily become a Tribute Portfolio (cf. what they did to the tiny The Inelle, Oakhurst Yosemite, a Tribute Portfolio Hotel) or something even nicer (the limitation is probably given by the square footing of the rooms - very Courtyard-ish).
When we planned a stop in Page, Arizona, proximity to Antelope Canyon and Horseshoe Bend drove the decision. The Courtyard by Marriott Page at Lake Powell put us close to both and is conveniently located to both the sights and small commercial area in Page.
Location
This is why you book here.
Antelope Canyon: 10–15 minutes
Horseshoe Bend: 5–7 minutes
Lake Powell: about 10 minutes
We arrived in Page in the afternoon following our drive from Las Vegas, dropped our bags, and had just enough time to relax by the pool before heading out to dinner. Being this close to everything made that easy. We were back quickly, got a good night’s sleep, and were up early the next morning for our Antelope Canyon tour. From there, we stopped at the Big Lake Sand Cave (located behind the Shell gas station) before leaving town in the early afternoon and continuing on to Sedona.
This was plenty of time to do everything without feeling rushed and a pace I'd recommend for one-night stop in Page.
Pool and Outdoor Space
The pool itself is fairly typical for this category, but the setting stands out. Behind it, you have open desert and mountain views, framed by tall Italian cypress trees that give the space a bit more presence than most hotels at this level.
We had no trouble finding chairs, and it stayed relatively quiet. After a long drive, it was the perfect setting to stretch, relax and regroup.
Family-Friendly Features
Just off the pool, covered areas house ping-pong and foosball tables. In the afternoon heat, the shade alone made these usable, and the games kept our kids occupied while we sat on the pool deck.
It’s a small addition, but one that actually got used and kept the kids off their electronics which was a bonus.
Rooms
The room was clean and comfortable. It had a simple design, but one detail stood out, a brick accent wall that gave the space a bit of character and tied in nicely with the surrounding landscape.
We had a desert/rock-facing room, and that ended up being a highlight. Early morning and late afternoon light and a view of the beautiful desert landscape gave the room a sense of location that you don’t always get at a hotel like this.
Bathrooms
The bathroom felt older than the rest of the room. Fixtures and finishes haven’t been updated in some time, and the contrast is noticeable.
It didn’t affect functionality, but it’s one of the few areas where the property feels behind.
Hot Water Issue
The only real issue came at the worst time.
After a long drive and being out all day, we attempted to shower before dinner and found there was no hot water. The front desk acknowledged it and explained that it can happen when the hotel is near capacity.
They were direct about it, but that didn’t make it less frustrating. It didn’t define the stay, but it’s worth factoring in.
Breakfast
Breakfast was included with our stay and featured continental options along with a few hot items: scrambled eggs, bacon, and a waffle station—plus pastries, cereal, and fruit.
The room fills up quickly early on, but turnover was efficient and we were seated without much delay. For us, the main benefit was timing. We were able to eat, pack up, and head out for an early Antelope Canyon tour without stopping elsewhere.
Final Thoughts
This is a conveniently located hotel that makes visiting Page easier.
If updated bathrooms and reliable hot water are high priorities, it’s worth comparing a few other options in the area. If location and ease of access to the area’s main sights matter more, the Courtyard Page is a reliable Marriott property that will make for a comfortable stay.
De buitenzijde en lobby zijn erg mooi
Kamers zijn enigzins gedateerd
First - the hotel front desk and general staff was fine this is not a review against them.
Stay far far away from the Courtyard by Marriott in Page AZ. I have been trying for 3 weeks to get a security deposit returned for a 1 night stay. Gen.Mgr Jeremy was left numerous voicemails to try and remedy the situation. No calls were returned. When I finally was able to track him down he was bothered to speak to me from “hello”. He was rude, condescending and made my issue not his problem blaming it on the bank. He continued to talk over me and refused to care. Jeremy is in desperate need of customer service training or find someone else to run that hotel. In the end I had to file a fraud complain against the hotel and charge in order to get it removed. Horrible look Marriott. Makes me want to find a different hotel loyalty program.
After a long day, we arrived at the hotel and wanted to go to the pool. we got there and went in the pool to find FREEZING water, after the front desk told us it was heated! Then, we tried the hot tub which wasn't even hot! We told the front desk about this and they said that the heat will turn on tomorrow, and we are leaving that morning. The ping pong rackets were pretty bad quality too, and there was no control for the fans. It disrupted the game. Overall, the setting and offerings were impressive (the ping pong table was nice), but it doesn't matter if they don't work.
As always, my experience was top notch.
Lovely facilities and excellent location. Very friendly staff.
