Hotel La Basílica Quito

Liked that it was family owned - Miriam was the best!! Location was very central to old town. Breakfast each day had fresh fruit and baked goods. They set up a great tour for us. The rose petals and swan decoration on the beds was spectacular!

Great location at the centre of Quito downtown - less than 5 mins walk to La Basilica~ with a nice chocolate place (Huma chocolate) and the English Book Shop next door (a wide selection of books about Ecuador and beyond). The hosts were very friendly and generous, offered comfortable and safe airport transfer service. The breakfast was yummy and nutritious, the room was comfortable and bright. The entire hotel interior reminds you of how special this palce is - World Heritage site! Hope to be back again~

What a delightful landing pad to explore Quito! Hotel La Basílica is in the heart of Old Town, easy walking distance to the main square, many museums, shops and restaurants. Any of the main tourist attractions were less that $5 by Uber away.

Hotel La Basílica is quietly tucked away behind a discreet door, (locked at all times for top security), opening into a beautiful courtyard. Our room was large and with high ceilings and like the rest of the hotel adorned with artwork. It had a desk and armoire including safe. At night the hotel was very quiet. Housekeeping kept the room immaculate - not just a quick towel refresh.

Breakfast was full and hearty each morning and included in the stay. They very conveniently have in house laundry for a modest price. No vacation time spent at the laundromat!

What made this place special was the hostess, Mariam, who welcomed us with a tour of the hotel including wine cellar and library of tourist books to peruse. She offered neighbourhood advice and a map, and always had filtered water available to refill water bottles. She and her team were always cheerful and positive and we felt safe and welcome in her hotel. She shows pride in the hotel, her city and their visitors. We would highly recommend Hotel La Basílica.

Hotel La Basílica was absolutely wonderful! Great location in the historic center, spotlessly clean and well furnished rooms, warm and accommodating staff. Our drivers to and from the airport were also prompt and courteous. Highly recommended!

Our second stay was also wonderful. We had to change our plans slightly before arrival and the hotel was very gracious and accommodating about the change. Our room was again wonderful and we enjoyed being able to walk easily to the Basilica and other attractions in the historic center. We felt very safe in Quito and urge foreign travelers to visit this beautiful and interesting city!

Idéalement situé au centre historique, tous les sites touristiques se visitent aisément à pied à partir de l'hôtel.
Le staff est sympathique et la gérante fera tout son possible pour vous aider.
Une grande Safety Box dans la chambre, j'ai pu y laisser mon PC et évidemment passeport et carte de crédit. Pour autant, nous n'avons rencontré aucun problème de sécurité en marchant. De toute façon, au centre historique, il y a des forces de l'ordre partout.
L'hôtel assure un service de laundry rapide , efficace et bon marché (sac de linge donné a 8h, récupéré a 16h).
Je recommande aussi le transfert aéroport-hotel à 30 USD. Ça paraît cher mais c'est loin ! La voiture est confortable et le monsieur qui nous a transférés est très sympa.

My stay here was wonderful. The staff was EXCEPTIONAL and very welcoming and helpful. The entire Hotel was spotless, offers a tasty complimentary breakfast, coffee/tea, and drinking water for your daily outings.

It was so comfortable and quiet, a really nice reprieve from a busy day while touring the area.

When I return to Quito, I will look forward to staying here again!

Staff was amazing and the hotel is beautiful. Breakfasts were delicious. Great location in the old town. A few minute walk from the Basicilla and Independence Square.

O café o suficiente, localização espetacular, fica bem no meio do centro , perto dos melhores pontos turísticos da cidade. E o melhor de tudo foi o tratamento especial da dona Miriam, a proprietária (muito simpática, amável e prestativa).

A Well-Run B&B in a Terrible Location
The Good:

The owner lives on-site and is hands-on. His wife is NOT pleasant and manages the cooking and front desk.
The cleaning staff (2-3 people) kept the place tidy. The owner wife is not friendly.

Hotel La Basilica is a lovely boutique hotel right in the heart of the historic district. It is beautifully maintained and furnished, and the rooms are spotless and well appointed. It was also very secure; guests are buzzed in and the doors are locked at night. Note that if you have an early tour, you need to let them know in advance.
The owner Miriam and staff were very friendly and were devoted to our well being. The breakfasts were good with lots of fresh fruit and warm bread. I appreciated the fact that hot water for tea was available all day. There is also a lovely courtyard to spend time in while not in your room.

A beautiful hotel with great owners who went out of their way to make our stay enjoyable!
