A great spot for business travelers and families. My room had a couch and a desk which was what I needed as I was working. Breakfast was decent in the morning, it was busy at 730. Staff were pleasant and helpful.
This hotel is very poorly run. I would never stay here again. Instead of addressing issues the manager is rude to guests.
Beds were comfortable
Basement parking smells weird
We have stayed at this Hyatt place since their first opening and it has definitely lost its luster. The only really good thing about it is its proximity to our son‘s house in Hope Ranch. Definitely in need of a refreshing and it would be helpful if the room you booked online was representative of the room you receive. I had booked a room with a walk-in shower very specifically because both my husband and I do better with that and the room had a tub to step over into. He is with a walker, does not need an ADA room, but it would’ve been much more convenient and safe had we received the room that I had booked. I inquired immediately when getting into the room, but they didn’t have anything to accommodate us.
Nice room and amenities.
Pull out couch was a little too soft she mattress was quite then!
Location, parking garage.
Small rooms, no coffee in lobby, poor construction that is visible, but overall great hotel.
Free parking, location, breakfast

Weird odor in hotel room; food was not very good. Sausages were very salty
Spacious rooms, great breakfast and good location
I needed to cancel one nighy if stay and didn’t get a helpful response
The clearness
The front desk and price
First of all, don't let the photo of the pool fool you - it's about as big as a jacuzzi - camera tricks make it look WAY bigger. The location is convenient and accessible. The parking charge is just another example of unnecessary add-on fees. Rooms were clean, beds comfortable, and breakfast was just OK - there was a lot of food but on the lower end of quality. Interesting layout and architecture - sort of an "inside out" vibe which might not appeal to some travelers (for safety reasons).
When someone took a shower next door or upstairs it was very loud. The walls are not insulated.
Also, the property does not have smart T.V.’s. We had a little family trip and couldn’t find anything on TV the second night.
The hotel is fine and all, for a category 3 hotel.
The hotel is NOT so fine and all, for a category 6 hotel with a cat-6 price tag.
Staring at the ceiling when lying in bed, I see Grand Hyatt Denver (cat-4) and Grand Hyatt HK (cat-6) flashing in my mind, and can't stop thinking - why?
Maybe a Hyatt Place shouldn't be cat-6 at all.
Maybe this is the "Santa Barbara premium".
I will never understand.
(the same comment goes to Mar Monte right down the street)
Hyatt place worked OK as a last minute road trip stop over. The atmosphere is very plain and basic. The rooms are very loud, the sliding bathroom doesn't seal so all sounds are heard inside or outside of the bathroom and the same goes for the front door and hallway. Neighboring doors were very loud and clear through the night. The hotel was clean and a bit overpriced for the class level. It's very do-it-yourself so do not expect much service.
The breakfast was great. We also enjoyed the fireplace in the courtyard for evening chats. The staff was friendly and quickly responded to any requests. It's not that the hotel is in a bad location, just a bit of a challenge to get to the entrance with the road configuration.
No complaints.
