Pros:

The staff were brilliant, reception, restaurant and bar, all excellent.
The bed was really comfortble and luxurious bedding.

Cons:

The hairdryer didn't work, the element had gone, not good when you're on your own almost ready for bed and it's a busy pub downstairs. The rubber on it was also sticky.
The bath and surrounds could have been cleaner.

Close to perfect overall
Pros:

Room was adequately appointed and very comfortable

Cons:

A few things where communication could have been better. Was told the wifi code but there was no written record of it in the room [or anywhere else that I could see] and I couldn't face going back down two flights of stairs to ask again. Was told I could eat either in the bar or restaurant. As no-one else in restaurant I opted for bar but with very limited choice of food shown on the table menu.

Excellent location. Plenty of restaurants around. Sadly the Half Moon needs a lot of refurbishment.
Pros:

Excellent location. Breakfast was somewhat spartan. Although the menu lists various options we found they were not necessarily available. The cooked English was OK.

Cons:

Breakfast. The dining area. Wallpaper peeling in our bedroom. Carpet frayed in places. Actually a pub with rooms rather than a hotel. The bathroom was very dim. One down lighter for the bathroom. The shaver light/socket did not work and no attempt to repair during our stay, although we did point out the problem.

Beautiful town & Abbey.

Cons:

Room was pokey. Windows were filthy. Bath & shower curtain is so yesterday. Breakfast was uninspiring. Toilet seat didn't stay up.

Lots of little things that make this below par.

Staff good and helpful.

Cons:

The common parts need attention and some TLC. Despite saying free parking and registering our car reg at reception to ensure that we did, ourselves and other guests received a subsequent parking notice from Premier Park in Exeter saying we did not pay for our stay in the car park and wanted a £100 fine. This was sorted out by Craig the asst manager and our notice was cancelled.

It was fine for a one night stay.
Pros:

We didn't have breakfast and it was good it was not automatically included. There are excellent cafes in town,

Cons:

There was quite a lot of noise from people outside the pub in the evening. The room was sparsely furnished. Only one chair, nowhere to hang towels. It was in need of re-decorating.

Pros:

Location was great right in the centre of town, cooked breakfast was very good, staff helpful.

Cons:

This standard room was clean small, basic but adequate. The bathroom was very very small,the bath was stained the sink plug was stuck in an almost closed position. We were on the 2nd floor with no lift so getting luggage up and down was not east, however a staff member did help us when we checked in . The hotel was clean but shabby, in need of some tlc .
