For 11 USD one cannot expect much,
but atleast the shower should be repaired because we got electric shocks from the water and also by touching the knob.
Apart from that it was satisfactory.
The reception and Chef were also Ok.
Our transfer to the SGR Nairobi terminus was perfect100%. Our driver was on time and also easy to talk to.
Hot water non existent . No street signage so nearly impossible to find the hotel.
We ordered food from their restaurant . They took the order then closed the kitchen - result was no food and no one to be seen .
First, the Hotel fails to pick me up from the Airport. When i arrived, i was given a room different from the one i booked. I booked a studio apartment but was given a single room without a lock. After complaining, i was given another single roon which i had no choice but accepting. I was really a terrible experience
Also, the Hotel asked me to pay even though my credit card has also been charged. Basically, i paid twice for the room.
Small room,no internet, bad phone service,no toilet seat amd alot of mosquitos.
Most night stay in Nairobi
Fair price shuttle to the airport. Staff Isaac very helpful and efficient
Alot
My stay was a mixed one, the pickup from the airport was excellent and the driver was brilliant, I always use Hotels.com for my stats and always go for the free breakfast which this hotel did offer but was informed that they do not offer this to Expedia bookings! So I think this needs to be clarified when booking on the website and residents be told when they check in and not given hidden charges, and I didn't find the lady in the office welcoming or helpful, but the driver and cleaners brilliant so thanks to them guys.
I loved my stay here but might not be for everyone if you want to be near the hustle and bustle of nairobi. bolts and ubers into town were super cheap though so I think your able to be well below prices of down town hotels, nice scenic property, nice ish rooms (the showers left a little bit to be desired - use the shower shoes) but i loved my stay here!
Everything was Good
Good place to be
The Hotel was doing renovations so the outside area was not accessible but there was a seating area in the main building with TV and dining upon request was available. The staff were very helpful and my original booking was upgraded to a larger room-nice! I would definitely rebook at this location.
The staff were very nice and caring. Judith and Moreen took care of us.
They also helped us call for Taxi, which was safe to take us to the airport.
They facilitated and cooked nice dinner and breakfast for us.
The night I arrived at the Zarita Boutique Hotel I was presented with a subpar room and not the Executive room which I had reserved. It had been a very long travel day. The manager tried to insist that this was the room in which i reserved. Since it was after 11:30pm the manager (Jeff) promised sort things out and to just stay in the room for the night. This was the class Bait and Switch tactic. The following morning the manager was no longer insisting that I had the correct room. Needless to say I was disappointed. Now I’m told that the Executive room was occupied by someone else however the person was out of the country and I could stay in the room. This was totally unprofessional. When I asked for a cancellation I was informed by the manager that it was to late to cancel nor get a refund. I was told I would be charged for duration of my 12 night stay. I moved my luggage and personal items into the Executive Room however I was not allowed use of the closets, drawers etc because the room in which I had reserved and paid for in full via Expedia was occupied!!!.. this was only the beginning of overwhelming challenges at the Zarita Boutique Hotel. No screens in the windows, no air conditioning, initially the toilet did NOT flush. To take a shower only Cold water was on unless you ran Outside the bathroom hit a switch which activated the hot water heater however by the you got back in the shower the was EXTREMELY HOT which required you to go back to turn the switch off.
It was good
Service was friendly. More like a hostel set up and rooms are extremely small. Great for just a quick rest before flying out. They do no have an airport shuttle assisted in amenities. They call a taxi that will cost you $10.
Extremely difficult to find, but when you are finally here, the staff is friendly and helpful.
If you are lucky, the place offers fantastic value, as it's reasonably comfortable for around 25 USD per night. Unfortunately for us, the price attracts scums, and we were quite annoyed by a drunk Russian guy. It should also be noted that the walls are extremely thin, so if you are unlucky and have bad neighbors, you wont get much sleep.
Lastly, the mosquito net over our bed was full of holes, and did not cover all sides.
Worst of all: it was raining during the night, and there was apparently a hole in the roof, so by around 03:00 water started dripping down into our bed, completely soaking it. Staff offered no compensation.
Sengen var god, men det var et stort minus at der ikke var noget varmt vand. Receptionisten sagde at det var pga. vejret. Morgenmaden var meget simpel og der var en del forvirring omkring den og om den var inkluderet. Vi fik det dog løst.
Turned out the property was located in a quiet residential neighborhood. Close to airport. Do not take the linkage road, as google suggests, too muddy, as my poor uber found out. Property is quiet and staff like Robin and Mary are very nice. Bed was very comfortable. TV had issues. Locals are friendly and nice. Had a fun motorcycle taxi ride to Gateway Mall, best shave and pedicure ever! By Esther at salon on corner near the bar. People at bar are friendly too. Neat sign near main road "celebrating colours of Kenya" is great for a photo.
