Go back in time staying at this beautifully restored historic hotel in downtown Porto
Pros:

Excellent location in the middle of the city, right on Rue de Santa Catarina, a main pedestrian street. Bedroom and bathroom were very clean. Excellent breakfast in the morning, which starts early at 7:30am. Truly beautiful common areas on the first floor.

Awful I will never use booking ,com again
Pros:

I booked hotel in June 2025 however when we arrived we were informed our room had flooded so they had booked a room in a inferior hotel miles sesh from city centre

Cons:

Rude unhelpful staff and untrue excuses as to why they had used our payment to book an inferior hotel miles from city centre in a rough dangerous area of Porto

Romantic, exceptional hotel in city center providing a luxurious stay at an affordable price
Pros:

This was an amazing hotel located in the middle of Porto. Centrally located, it was easy to walk to restaurants and shops. The hotel was absolutely gorgeous! The staff went out of their way to be helpful and accommodating! Our stay in a suite was so wonderful and we would highly recommend this as an exceptional hotel! It even includes a rooftop terrace. We went up and brought a glass of wine and enjoyed viewing the city of Porto from above the city...breathtaking!

Cons:

We didn't like that we could not stay longer!

Pros:

Wat ik heel leuk vond aan het hotel was de uitstraling, ik waande me er terug in de tijd. Het hotel bevindt zich aan één van de drukstbezochte winkelstraten van Porto. Wij sliepen hier 1 nacht omdat we op doorreis waren, dus we hebben verder de omgeving niet verkend. Ontbijt was prima, personeel aardig en behulpzaam.

Cons:

Heel eerlijk vonden we de bedden niet zo lekker liggen, maar dit is persoonlijk natuurlijk. Mijn dochter moest op de bank slapen, dat was ook niet erg comfortabel.

Nichts, da wir nicht dort übernachten konnten.

Cons:

Wir (älteresPaar) hatten uns für dieses Hotel entschieden, weil die Lage sehr zentral in der Haupteinkaufsstrasse ist und wir es bereits von einem früheren Besuch kannten. Das Zimmer hatten wir monatelang im voraus gebucht und die Bezahlung erfolgte bereits 3 Tage vor unserer Ankunft. Deshalb war unsere Enttäuschung und unser Unverständnis sehr gross, als man uns bei unserer Ankunft mitteilte, dass man uns in ein anderes Hotel umgebucht hätte, angeblich wegen einer nicht funktionnierenden Klimaanlage, wobei wir allerdings eher von einer Hotelüberbuchung ausgehen. Das andere Hotel war zwar ohne Zweifel sehr gut, lag aber nicht zentral, sodass es uns nicht möglich war, zwischendurch kurze Ruhepausen einzulegen, ohne jedesmal die öffentlichen Verkehrsmittel benutzen zu müssen.
Es ist ein sehr schlechter Kundenservice, dass das Hotel dem Gast erst bei Ankunft mitteilt, dass das monatelang gebuchte und bereits bezahlte Zimmer nicht bezogen werden kann. Diese Praktik schadet dem Ruf des Hotels sehr.
Wir haben auf jeden Fall daraus gelernt, das Grande Hotel do Porto nicht mehr zu buchen und auch nicht weiterzuempfehlen.

Pros:

Eccellente soggiorno al Grande Hotel do Porto. Posizione strategica, ideale per scoprire Porto comodamente a piedi. Hotel accogliente, elegante e molto pulito. Ho apprezzato soprattutto la cura che si percepisce in ogni dettaglio e l’attenzione verso gli ospiti. Sono stata davvero bene e ci tornerei volentieri!
