Hotel King Castle

Our stay at this hotel was comfortable. Good lobby space. Room size is good. Location is close to Dalai Lama temple and local market. Restaurant service and food was good. Staff are friendly and supportive. Price is slightly high about 15% more for the quality of accommodation.

Great location in Mcleodganj but expensive by India standards with many better options around and far friendlier owners around many properties in the area. I stayed a week beyond my online stay because of volunteering work near the Dalai Lama temple. The staff working were unwilling to bargain on the price of the room, never cleaned the room after multiple requests during my stay for simple things like a new sheet or something of the sort.

The property is perfectly located near the McLeod Gang monastery and a short walk to all the outdoor shops. The views from the rooms are stellar, and the staff is so courteous and professional. Sonya, the concierge manager is really fantastic and makes you feel like a special guest at this truly beautiful hotel. Highly recommended!

My stay at King Castle Hotel was amazing better than what I expected!

Excellent location, very close to Dalai Lama temple, exit to dharamshala road. Fantastic views of valley and mountain both. Food was delicious and owner and staff are very welcoming

Ventilation was not good in our room.
Food was really good.
Staff was also accommodating.
Overall it's not a bad place to book if you get a good room with mountain view from room.

Absolutely terrible place to book your stay. the pics added by hotels.com is NOT what you get in reality. On top of it hotels.com was not helpful at all in helping to resolve the matter . this is the last time i will be using their services. they have overcharged me for the room as well as we enquired with the hotel when we reached there and the room was available much cheaper than what we got from hotels.com. and they advertise it as the best deals available which is literally fraud !

The hotel is situated centrally to the market and restaurants by short uphill walk of 10 minutes. The room booked was not with a view but the team moved us for the second and third nights with an adjusted rate. Staff is very friendly and the view from room with a balcony is superb. Will return.

Beutifully done, look like sitting in a 5 Star property, facilities are nowherre less than a 5Star hotel.

I cannot rate this hotel high enough . The cleanliness helpful staff and above all ambience . The staff were so friendly and helpful and respected peoples time . Special thank you to manager fir making me feel so welcome . The rooms are lovely spacious clean and comfortable . 5 stars

Amazing 😉 place to stay , happy friendly reception but the breakfast was very poor for western travelling...

Pros: Staff behaviour is good.
Cons: 1) Delayed restaurant service.
2) Buffet breakfast was mentioned in itinerary. But buffet not provided. Asked us to order as per choice and every single ordering was taking at least 30 minutes to serve. Eventually, lost the interest.
3) Expedia MUST look into providing online options to guests when it was properly mentioned that we are 4. We were being offered a double bedded room with no balcony and windows with wall view. I had no choice but to ask for a change in room options. Hotel had claimed for Rs.3000 extra for two days which I have paid as was having none other alternatives. Could not understand why Expedia is offering the double bedded room option when it is clearly written that we are 4.
4) Expedia May kindly emphasis on professionalism.
