Comfortable beds, clean bathrooms & yummy food at the pub. Welcoming staff & a handy location to start the Paparoa Track. Liked that there was a communal kitchenette for making tea & coffee.
Its a historic building in a very quiet town, but thats all part of the charm.
Love staying in this historic hotel

Very clean and comfortable. Excellent communication, great value for money. Yummy food.
An iconic historic hotel with the enchantment and feel of times gone by. Excellent dinner and breakfast with great staff. Loved the vibrant colours in the bedroom.

Room is very small , no table or chairs , no TV only just enough room to sleep . If ya want class and quaility don,t stay there ...if ya ok with very basic everything and shared bathroom you will be fine. Pity they don,t advisertise their exellent breakfast in the advert !!!
When breakfast was included i book pronto ... breakfast was very average so we paid for their bacon and eggs , Brillant
I cannot recommend this place enough. An absolute must if you are passing through. We were greeted by the two lovely bartenders in what I can only describe as an old school saloon vibe, with locals sitting outside, drinking and conversing. It truly made us feel like being part of the village. Lovely rooms, comfy beds, simple, but tasty breakfast. This is an absolute gem.
Value for money. It lived up to my expectations. Rooms basic but clean. Good wifi.
The atmosphere
Bathroom at other end of building -could be put nearer
