The room was spacious, clean, with great views, and quiet. The bed was very comfortable, with fluffy pillows and nice and warm. The bathroom was very clean and we made good use of the spa.
When we booked in, as it was my partner's birthday the staff member who booked us in said we would receive a complimentary cake and wine to celebrate the birthday, which we though was a lovely touch, however, we never received it.
Beautiful hotel in a great location. Staff were super friendly.
No handwash or soap in the bathroom
Great location, amazing facilities and rooms were fantastic. Staff were extremely helpful as always. I have stayed there many times and for me the best in Melbourne. Like any hotel in Melbourne just need to pick the right weekend. If there is any major events most hotels nearly double in price so something to consider. Restaurant awesome and always have the scotch fillet - the best going around. Cocktail bar also nice. Overall I have stayed at many hotels in Melbourne but this one is for me. Also join the Hyatt loyalty program. Sounds like I am getting paid for this. I wish. But make up your own mind I suppose.
I think my only thing is the big difference in room price. I think for the king to the deluxe king is not much different but then a massive difference to the suite and up from there. But worth checking prices at the time
The room was a great size and layout and the view of the river was superb.
I was required to work on my laptop whilst there but the hotel WiFi blocked access to my companies network. This is no use for business people. Also, we were not able to cast any tv programmes using a VPN as once again the hotel blocked its use.
We had already previously been in a much less expensive hotel which had better IT access.
Also the indoor pool and changing was snow five star.
I am extremely disappointed with my recent stay and will not be returning to Grand Hyatt.
I have stayed at this hotel multiple times for business trips, and it was excellent back in 2023. However, since 2024, the quality has declined significantly. During one stay, I experienced a severe allergic reaction and developed rashes all over my body. On another occasion, there was early morning elevator maintenance with excessive noise.
Unfortunately, this stay was just as unacceptable. I was first placed in a room at the end, where children upstairs were constantly running and jumping, making it impossible to rest. Even after changing rooms, I was again disturbed by maintenance noise starting as early as 8:30am.
For a hotel of this standard, this level of disruption and lack of comfort is simply unacceptable. I am very frustrated and disappointed with the overall experience.
Location was great, staff were friendly and professional.
Pity the wheels on the bed didn't lock as it meant it pushed away from the wall when sitting up to read/watch TV.
Hotel decor / rooms are nice, just a little tired.
Pity the pool isn't outside, just in a room that smelled strongly of chlorine.
