La Chaumière du Bois

Totally overpriced. They charged 88 eur/chf for one person, without breakfast, non-refundable, prepaid at time of booking. The room was nice. But the place is in the middle of nowhere and it is totally off-season now. A high price considering these factors. In a nice little city like Marciac e.g. i paid 64 eur for a comparable room even in a city and incl. a good breakfast. And it was refundable.
Well it was my choice to book here, cant blame anyone for that.
But: When i arrived here the hotel was closed with a phone number put to the door. After a while i found an envelop with a room card and a pink post-it with a note for me in french. Fortunately i do understand some french. They picked up the phone when i called for the 3rd time. I got into my room and the room was ok.
I would certainly not choose this hotel again but rather stay at a more reasonable place like Everhotel or other places in the region.
What i would have expected is that they would have informed me in advance if they want to be away for the weekend of May 1 and let me decide to stay at a different hotel instead if i wanted to.

Une réception au top très arrangeant parfait

Toiles d'araignées dans la chambre, tâches de saletés sur les lampes et meubles, la machine à café/thé a rejeté un résidu blanchâtre en coulant un thé... La réceptionniste m'accompagne à ma chambre en me disant que je serais le seul à l'étage et j'ai le plaisir de découvrir ensuite qu'il ne s'agit pas d'un lit deux places mais de deux lits une place collés côté à côté... Si l'auberge n'est pas très remplie je vous ça très moyen.. Je ne recommande pas

La Chaumiere du Bois is the best choice if you are interested to travel around in the Pyrineys. It provides parking and is closed to commercial area of Tarbes. Unfortunately, during my stay the restaurant ws closed.

très bon accueil.
le personnel est très réactif.
une climatisation dans la chambre aurait été apprécié.
Cadre agréable, chambre confortable, la salle de bain demande a être rafraichie.
Petit déjeuner correct bien qu'un peu cher (10 euros).

Un Havre de paix proche d'une zone commerciale.
Superbe restaurant à 100 mètres de l'hotel...

Superbe endroit repris depuis peu par des personnes qui s'investissent énormément pour rendre cet endroit encore plus magnifique. Une bonne literie, chambre bien équipée avec une petite terrasse donnant accès à la piscine, pour ceux qui sont au rez de chaussée, reste la salle de bain à rafraîchir. Que dire du restaurant, le chef cuisine des produits frais et c'est bon.

Extremely pleasant and cosy place. After a long walking tour it was perfect to relax there.
