Great location clean with modern facilities yet having a old character charm
Pros:

Location, old world charm, value for money & Breakfast!

Cons:

Bit of a rat warren trying to get to rooms, (lots of stairs & corridors for those with mobility issues). Also, there was a private function on the night of our day and the Pub had to be vacated at 5 pm which was a shame.

Overall, the place had charm. Not the best location in the city.

Cons:

We realize it was the Christmas season, but the staff seemed to be overwhelmed, covering for inadequacy in their system. We were told the restaurant would be open at certain times, even had open hours listed on flyers and door. It was not.

Great location
Pros:

Great location and great history of the building

Cons:

Not long after check in after having a long walk around London beforehand, we decided to have a power nap to set us up for the evening, not long after dozing off we were woken by cleaners knocking at the door to ask if everything was ok

Spot on hotel - highly recommend
Pros:

Room was lovely, spacious and attractively decorated. Excellent complimentary coffee and fresh milk and water/soft drinks. Bed was very comfortable with top notch bed linens. Felt very safe as a lone female traveller. Excellent breakfast in the pub.

Cons:

Nothing - loved it and will stay here again when in London

Everything you could want at a great price for London hotel.
Pros:

Welcoming staff, good sized bedroom, nicely cooked to order breakfast, friendly bar quiet, at night (great sleep) close to public transport and 20 minute walk to south bank.

We'll not be rushing back. It's a long way short of South Place Hotel service, standards and comfort
Pros:

Location was very good - we chose it for that reason specifically. The room was spacious with a comfortable sofa and came with complimentary drinks (orange and apple juice and some still and sparkling water). The bathroom was very nice and the bed was very comfortable. Some milk was also provided which was nice. I ate in the main bar (tables at the upstairs dining area close quite early). The main course (crab linguine) was delicious, as were the triple cooked chips.

Cons:

This is not a cheap hotel - with high price comes high expectations. It was very very noisy through the night, constant noise of large quantities of bottles being emptied amongst other noises (including the lift) - this meant that our sleep was very disrupted. Small things matter - no bedside lamps, no kettle, although the coffee machine did provide an alternative (but not hot tea temperature water), tv remote control (missing back cover) and was temperamental. We had to wait at least 10 mins at check-in as the one person on reception (it is just a one person reception) was on a very long call seemingly trying to offer transport advice (not booking someone in/or out). We'll return to staying at South Place Hotel which for a similar (if not cheaper) price we get amazing service (and check-in), rooms are extremely comfortable and spacious, bathrooms are amazing - it is silent and dark through the night, thanks to electric blackout blinds and soundproofing - as well as having plenty of dining space that's open late.
