Good car parking and location. Quite roomy room. Bed comfortable
Able to check in as room ready.
Quiet location.
Lack of staff present.
Cracked sink in bathroom but staff aware of this.
Booked room for2 people, but only given 1 cup & saucer and one bath towel and one hand towel.
Lighting in main room, bulbs not working , which we reported whilst there.
Bathroom radiator needs bleeding as very hot at bottom but not top.
Had to run hot water for a while but was made aware of it by notice.
Advertises as b&B but no breakfast is available just states local establishments nearby.
Daisy chaining of extension leads to TV set which is a serious health & safety hazard and could cause a fire, which we did make staff aware of.
Could do with a lick of paint inside & out.
Good location for our visit. That's the only positive thing I can say.
Reception was appalling. Locked door, miserable unhelpful reception.
Room was prepared for one occupant only despite being booked as a double.
Wash basin was cracked and the bath panel fell off. No toiletries in the shower. Hot water took two minutes, and I really mean two whole minutes to arrive.
Phoned ahead to ask for late check in due to delayed train, Very accomidating and very warm welcome. Room was clean and presented well. Perfect location
there was no breakfast advertised at this B&B
Still found the shower tricky to get the right temperature! We were aware of this from last visit.
It is located around the corner from
My daughter so good location when I visit. This is my second stay at this facility.
Comfortable bed
A very dated accommodation. Reception very uninviting and definitely needs some investment in upgrading appearance of place.
There was a smell coming from the bathroo constantly- ? Drains need attention.
Many of the electrical points were not working- tv therefore not accessible - tiny tv
Only one bedside lamp so had to read with over head light on which was uncomfortable for my partner trying to sleep.
Room not prepared for two so had to ask for towels and room not serviced over weekend, etc
Cold at times so not sure how it will be in Winter, although I see a new vertical radial has been installed since my last stay.
Very dated in decor although that did not bother me really.
Whilst the owners live on site , the last thing one wants to do is ring their bell at 10 pm to complain.
The location was ideal being only a few minutes walk from the train station, the room was lovely and spacious considering it was just a room with a single bed, there were tea and coffee making facilities available and there was also a fan already in my room to help with the hot weather, the staff were really friendly and the hotel itself was always clean even the car park outside didn’t have any litter which considering it was next door to a public park was amazing
The windows were a little thin so could hear almost everything from outside but it does look to be an old building and with the location of the hotel there was never really much noise outside anyway so it was only a minor issue
Comfortable clean bed
Carpets stained.
Bathroom very dated
No toilet paper.
Broken toilet seat.
Furniture old and dated.
Tea and coffee provided but no cups or glass to even have a drink of water
Nothing
Dirty carpet, torn net curtain, bedside lights not working, not very warm. Only one flat pillow each. Could not find staff to get more so disappointed we left a day early
Was clean at least
Shower didn’t work. Really run down hotel
Bed was comfortable and we had a good nights sleep. Room was quiet apart from what sounded like an immersion heater chugging away in the morning. OK for a quick overnight stay but that is enough. The car park is so very convenient attached to the property with ample parking and close to town and the railway station.
The place is very tired. The rooms were dated, the decor dated, the bathroom dated. Tea and coffee in the double room - but only 1 cup, no glasses or even disposable plastics cups for use in the bathroom or for water, 2 guests but 1 hand towel and 1 slightly larger bath towel. Other family member in a single room - had no cup at all in his room to use the provided tea and coffee. We did not use the shower or bath - thought it easier to go home and take a shower - there was a sign in the bathroom warning hot water takes ages to come through - which it did ... and when it did it was OK - but did not risk a shower - A large investment could maybe bring the place up to date as it has great potential. Was probably a great place to stay in its time.
Location was very good
The window opened onto the smoking balcony.
