Location
The hotel was very average overall and did not meet expectations. The room was basic, with minimal amenities and average-quality linens. Attention to detail appeared lacking, as one of the bathroom towels had a noticeable hole in it. To make matters worse, a false fire alarm went off in the middle of the night, disrupting sleep and causing unnecessary inconvenience. While the hotel was functional, the overall experience was mediocre and not particularly memorable.
The location could not have been better! We were literally across the street from the Peir 39 walk!

Fourth floor at the front of the hotel and the kids driving up and down with their sub woofers felt like they were in the room with their music, especially at 4am. Room was tired and plaster was coming off round the window. There was moldy grouting in the bathroom and a replacement cover on the toilet cystern was ill fitting and balanced with gaps on the toilet. The toilet didn’t flush correctly and took many pushes to make it flush. The air conditioner thermostat was faulty and we could not turn the temperature up and the room was freezing. On phoning reception I was asked if I had tried turning it down on the wall thermostat! She sent a technician up who said, oh yes this rooms thermostat is broken and showed us how to open a wooden maintenance access panel to open the unit to adjust the temperature, which is what we had to do for our stay. Would not stay again, although all staff were lovely. Need to invest in some refurbishment of the rooms.

I had to pay more for a “balcony with a partial view of the Bay but there was no view. Very disappointing. I didn’t want the balcony but wanted the view, but they wouldn’t refund my $10 for false advertising. Really? $10? TAKE OUT THE VIEW IN THE ADVERTISEMENT, just say pay for a balcony.
Also, rooms needed painting/upkeep, rugs needed steam cleaning.

No daily water and no glasses or cutlery in room
Great location for Fisherman's Wharf, Pier 36 and other tourist attractions in the area. Close to public transport, restaurants and shops. The rooms were super cool and had everything you could want including safe and fridge. The facilities at the Zephyr were fun and family friendly including the complimentary smores packs.
Been told our room was ready but requesting $50 for the privilege of accessing two before scheduled checkin.
