Location comfortable friendly clean and homely
Parking was a little difficult but I managed ok
Excellent
Room 15 opened onto the car park and on a route to the pool and gym so people walking by most of the time.
We only had one smallish opening window next to the door. This affects our overall score.
Couldn’t fault cleanliness . Short walk to seafront . Didn’t use the swimming pool or eat there so can’t comment on that.
Room good, terrace excellent.
Parking restricted
Wonderful setting, lovely outdoor area, nice pool, good twin room
Breakfast was average - poor coffee, cooked options ok but did not wow
Layout at breakfast was good, tables well spaced.
Breakfast was very average not very well presented.
Loved it was so old & still had the features in the rooms & around the hotel, grounds were lovely & well cared for like the Hotel, good parking, bed was so comfortable & big bonus for us was there was a bath freshly cooked breakfast was a big plus for us delicious. When we first came in we were greeted by Mike who even walked us up to our room went through everything we needed for a great stay. Drinks were reasonably priced. Well done having such a wonderful hotel. We will be back
Nothing
Dinner was fantastic, as was breakfast. Good choice, and served with a smile.
Parking was a bit confusing, but the receptionist did her best to help us.
Friendly and helpful
Very hot weather , could have had a fan in the room
The hotel grounds were lovely 😍. The dinner was nice and not too badly priced. The staff was helpful and the hotel was not to far from the sea.
The bed was so hard. The lift door on the 1st floor wouldn't lock so the lift would not work and being disabled it was difficult to walk down the stairs.
Location and gardens round hotel. All the staff we saw were the most helpful and friendly I have ever come across. I had several specific requests relating to my grandson and all were sorted on the phone and available when we arrived.
The main bedroom was modern and very comfotable with excellent amount of storage but twin room rather small and beds a little dated. Although Queen Victoria had stayed in this room!
Close to the beach and ok parking .
Very basic and not greatly clean .
Very quaint old school hotel
Pool could do with updating
Historic hotel with sea views, beautifully maintained with a very appealing food menu. Comfortable rooms and 1m deep swimming pool. Has parking. Family run hotel; labour of love.
The tv didn’t work at all
Good parking. Easy walk to town.
Small room, have had bigger ones in this hotel
The place was just spectacular. Wonderful historic building, superb location, excellent dinner and service at it. Use of garden for breakfast if desired. Would definitely like to go back sometime.
The only small thing was that the latest time for dinner was 7.30. Having walked all day in really hot weather, I made it by 7.30 after a shower but only just!
