Where do I start in describing this amazing property. My wife Linda and I stayed here and with her Titanium status we were pre upgraded to a junior sweet with a corner view. The view wasn't much but we were on a low floor, but the room was great with a dining table and loads of leather chairs and couches. Bed was very comfortable. The room is almost irrelevant given the magnificent space. Huge Atrium with loads of natural light is super fun and comfortable with great music being pumped in . So many open living rooms to sit in with friends. The restaurant is amazing, all the food was exceptional. Particularly the Jalapeno Cornbread French toast at Brunch . The pool is lovely with natural shad all over which you rarely get with a hotel pool. Fitness facility is brand new equipment and amazingly peaceful with a separate 2 lane lap pool which was a dream come true for me. The location is fantastic with great food and shopping within walking distance, and a nice pond trail nearby. The thing that really stood out though was the staff. Trestor in the lounge was amazing. Kathleen our waitress could not have been better, Amy at the bar and Amy at the desk, made us feel so welcome. like we lived there and were family. Robert the food and beverage manager approached us every time we walked by to see how we were doing and if we needed anything. Kai in the snack hut by the pool was friendly and fast with anything we needed. I have been at hundreds of hotels worldwide and I put this in my top 5, even over luxury resorts. The manager of this place who we didn't meet, must be amazing because you can just see in the staff the kindness and commitment to service excellence from top to bottom. Would not stay anywhere else in Austin and it has elevated the Renaissance brand in my mind
Location - Within walking distance to Trader Joe's, Starbucks and Amy's Ice Cream. Close to First Watch.
Outstanding front desk staff. Can't remember her name, but she wore glasses and worked the 3pm to 11:00pm shift, slender and very personable. Irony - can't remember her name but she remembered mine every time I approached her.
The view of the city from the room was great.
Stayed in room 836. loved the room but there was the constant of water running or some sort of plumbing issue. I do mean "constant"! For the entire two day stay. Really an issue at night. Surely someone has mentioned this before.
Very Friendly staff. Nice grounds, pools., glass elevator, lobby. Easy access to the highway, hiking trails and shopping mall. We enjoyed our stay
We traveled with a 3 year old. and she would love to have a play ground on site..
We stayed at the Renaissance Austin Hotel for a quick staycation and couldn’t have asked for a better experience.
The lobby is gorgeous with lights strung all above, longhorn paintings, and so many picture opportunities and setups all over the lobby and beyond- A very warm and cozy feeling that immerses you in tasteful Texas themed decor.
the food was sooo good. The beet and goat cheese salad was so tasty and the “knotty nachos” were next-level. Our lattes were really good as well.
But what really set this stay apart was the staff. We accidentally left behind our daughter’s stuffed elephant, Ellie, and instead of just shipping it back, the team went above and beyond. They took Ellie on a full “hotel adventure” and developed the pictures of Ellie exploring different places all around the hotel with a postcard as if our stuffed animal wrote it from her adventure! It turned a simple mistake into something so special for our family.. so sweet!!
On top of that, the staff noticed we were traveling with two young kids and surprised them with two longhorn “Bevo” stuffed animals—one for each child. That small gesture meant a lot and really showed how attentive and thoughtful the team is.
There are so many pretty hotels in austin but it was so fun to experience a hotel with that extra touch and thoughtfulness.
We can’t wait to go back!
There's minor water damage in the room. Not too bad, the property itself is pretty nice. However...
I had a negative experience at this hotel. Management is aware of it and didn't try to do anything to remedy it, so I feel confident enough to be honest in my review.
The company I work for put me up here, along with several other coworkers, but they would not check me (just me) in. Despite having a confirmation number for my reservation, and about a dozen promotional emails from the company reminding me of my upcoming stay, they said they had never received payment for the room. Maybe there was a typo with the card information? I don't know.
I asked how it was possible for me to have received a confirmation number and check in information for a reservation that did not exist.
Nobody could give me a solid answer, and nobody attempted to take responsibility for it, or pointed me in the direction of someone who could explain it.
The first front desk worker was actually trying, but the whole process of contacting my company, getting them to submit a form via email, etc. took so long that I ended up being helped by a secondary front desk worker who totally wrote me off.
When explaining that part of the destination fee could be used for a food and beverage credit, she said I could NOT use it the night of my check in, but that it would "probably" be fine to use the next day. I asked, "Probably? What does that mean?" She said she "wasn't even supposed to be telling me this", but that if they ran into any issues, they'd call me.
They didn't call me. The next night, when I went to use the food and beverage credit at the hotel convenience store, that same front desk worker was there. I approached the desk with my item, and the first thing she asked me was, "Are you going to pay for that?" What??? I told her I'd be using my food and beverage credit. She asked for my room number, looked something up on the computer, and said that I didn't have one. "I guess it didn't go through." I'm so glad this is my last night at Renaissance, I cannot wait to get out of here.
There's a million places to stay in Austin, hopefully I don't have to stay here again. Hopefully if you do stay here on business, your reservation actually exists. Don't trust the receipt they send you to actually be a receipt of purchase?
Location was great and quiet.
Very nice property
The food in the restaurant was not very good
Water damage on ceiling over TV. Not sure why this room was given to a guest. No other rooms were available so we left.
Location was convenient for our requirements
Some of the worst customer service I’ve ever had at a Marriott. Food at the restaurants was terrible and got food poisoning from an omelette. Several meals came cold and we had to ask for them to be reheated
When you think of “Austin,” you think big, flashy, ornate, charming, incredible music and just good-ole down the earth ole’ fashioned southern hospitality. Well folks….I’m happy to report that you can find all of these things and MORE at the Renaissance Austin!
My fiancé and I stayed there for Christmas Eve and we were BLOWN AWAY by the amazing hotel staff (Omar and Threser) as well the phenomenal XMas decorations throughout the hotel grounds and lobby. However, there’s more…
The biggest surprise for us was the Governor’s Suite. The living room was ornate with this GORGEOUSLY LIT Christmas Tree (see pictures), contemporary-style furniture and this amazingly stellar wine and cheese collection! As a couple who frequent four and five Diamond hotels when we travel, we were enthralled to see the red carpet rolled out for our arrival! This made it evidently clear that we had made the right decision going with Renaissance Austin again. Our plan is to stay at in Governor’s Suite every XMas Eve.
We highly HIGHLY recommend the Renaissance Austin to anyone who is interested and looking to stay in and around the Austin metropolitan area!
Special thanks to Aziz, Beyza, Trester and Omar for their exemplary service!!
The tv was broken, staff was not good, and we didn’t get the room requested even through we had a reservation.
Such an incredible property and warm and welcoming staff. Best hotel in Austin we return to several times a year. Clean, modern,
But warm and homey in the best welcoming way. The staff has such a can-do attitude and we always feel so welcome when we visit. Don’t miss this very Austin property feels so authentic and kind!
The vast atrium and the large space in the lobby, the gym and the pool.
Wi-Fi connection should be included in the room; this is how it is in most places.
