Poor for a Marriott, pick somewhere else
Pros:

Location was convenient for our requirements

Cons:

Some of the worst customer service I’ve ever had at a Marriott. Food at the restaurants was terrible and got food poisoning from an omelette. Several meals came cold and we had to ask for them to be reheated

One word: STUNNING!!!
Pros:

When you think of “Austin,” you think big, flashy, ornate, charming, incredible music and just good-ole down the earth ole’ fashioned southern hospitality. Well folks….I’m happy to report that you can find all of these things and MORE at the Renaissance Austin!

My fiancé and I stayed there for Christmas Eve and we were BLOWN AWAY by the amazing hotel staff (Omar and Threser) as well the phenomenal XMas decorations throughout the hotel grounds and lobby. However, there’s more…

The biggest surprise for us was the Governor’s Suite. The living room was ornate with this GORGEOUSLY LIT Christmas Tree (see pictures), contemporary-style furniture and this amazingly stellar wine and cheese collection! As a couple who frequent four and five Diamond hotels when we travel, we were enthralled to see the red carpet rolled out for our arrival! This made it evidently clear that we had made the right decision going with Renaissance Austin again. Our plan is to stay at in Governor’s Suite every XMas Eve.

We highly HIGHLY recommend the Renaissance Austin to anyone who is interested and looking to stay in and around the Austin metropolitan area!

Special thanks to Aziz, Beyza, Trester and Omar for their exemplary service!!

Such an incredible property and warm and welcoming staff. Best hotel in Austin we return to several times a year. Clean, modern,
But warm and homey in the best welcoming way. The staff has such a can-do attitude and we always feel so welcome when we visit. Don’t miss this very Austin property feels so authentic and kind!

Wonderful stay.
Pros:

The vast atrium and the large space in the lobby, the gym and the pool.

Cons:

Wi-Fi connection should be included in the room; this is how it is in most places.

If you’re visiting Austin and want a hotel that really embodies Texas charm, the Renaissance is a fantastic choice.
Pros:

If you’re visiting Austin and want a hotel that really embodies Texas charm, the Renaissance is a fantastic choice. The design and decor have that distinctive Texas look. Warm wood accents, rustic touches, and plenty of local character, and the service is top-notch. The location is convenient for exploring the city while still offering a peaceful escape from the hustle and bustle. Whether you’re here for business or pleasure, it’s a comfortable, welcoming place to stay.

Truck Broken Into & Management Doesn't Care
Pros:

I should have paid attention to the reviews about issues with vehicles being broken into and/or stolen at this property. Our truck was broken into overnight and we discovered it in the morning on October 10th. There is a charge to self park your vehicle and it is not cheap--so if this is a known issue as other posts report, perhaps there should be security patrolling the area. We were parked up front ! The thieves wanted the truck but since we had a club on it, it was too much trouble I guess as they rummaged through and took nothing. I asked to speak to Beyza, the manager on duty but was told she was not available. I left my contact information and asked that she call me, but she could not be bothered to call. Very disappointed in how Marriott managers address significant concerns. Engineering was very helpful and helped vacuum out the glass and put plastic on the window. Think twice before staying here!

Pros:

We were only at the hotel for one night, but it was great. The front desk asked about and found my Marriott Bonvoy account which for me a free late check-out and got me a $20 credit at the restaurant. Loved it!

Fun hotel with lots of photo spots!
Pros:

I attend an annual conference at this hotel every September, and this past weekend was this year's trip. My friends and I stayed in a double room. Our room was clean and comfortable, and everything was in good condition. I loved the new Kevin Murphy complimentary toiletries! (HUGE improvement over the former Aveda ones.)
We got morning coffee at the Choza coffee stand, where the service was quick and the coffee was good. We had a couple of banquet meals during the conference. Service was nice, although they took a long time to make a salad for my friend with food allergies.
One fun thing about this hotel is how the decor really captures the vibe of Austin. I can definitely say the hotel has made even more fun photo spots than ever before! There are several great spots in the huge atrium, several in the lobby, and even more down by the pool.

Meh…
Pros:

First time guest last night, only for one night tho. There was a Cheerleading Convention going on, so a lot of “buzz” throughout the property, especially the atrium. Though the property overall was nice, the room was a bit of a disappointment.
-No full length mirror (my fiancée HATED this)
-Shower was SUUUUUUUPER small-whoever designed this must be from Europe.
-No USB plug in the desk area…which kinda dismisses the use of a desk.
-YouTube buffered the entire stay. When I mentioned it to the front desk @ ck-out, she deflected the responsibility to the app company & said that “I should’ve said something sooner!”

Overall, a nice property, but Austin has tons of hotels, so not worth returning anytime soon.
