If you want to stay someplace, where you are treating like family, this hotel will exceed your expectation. Great staff and nice rooms.
The hotel is falling apart. We stayed there because it was connected to the convention center but next time we will be choosing from another hotel property that’s just as close.
Had a one-night stay with two teens for a dance convention. The facility was very nice and desk staff were exceptionally warm and accommodating. They were happy to meet all our requests including a rollaway bed, since no doubles were left at our group rate, and holding our luggage for a few hours after checkout. I recommend springing for the valet parking (onsite but operates independently) which works out to only about $15 more per day than self-parking at nearby lots and is much more convenient.
Previous negative reviews are spot on. Pretty much everything others have complained about has happened to us. The valet parking process is awful. We ended up parking across the street as suggested by other reviewers. The front desk double charged us for the entire stay and I am still fighting to get the issue resolved. The bathroom sink was clogged and there is no working AC control (It's turned off for the winter). We prefer a cooler room at night and it has been stifling hot. The high temps are so bad that we could barely sleep, tossing and turning all night. Lastly, it is incredibly noisy. You can hear every toilet flush, door slam and kids runing up and down the hall. Just awful.
The hotel is a little bit tired but overall in reasonable condition. It's right in the center of downtown and the room price is very reasonable. The staff was excellent and I would certainly go back without question.
Hotel was clean, location was great, and the staff was amazing!! Valet was a little backed up at times. I reco using the garage across the street.
AVOID THIS HOTEL AT ALL COSTS. This hotel is a SCAM. I don’t know how they are being able to be under the hyatt chain. I got charged TWICE for my stay and still have not gotten refund back. They charged me once for 646 dollars when I was there. After I checked out, they managed to charge my card for another 572 dollars. I have called to inquire about this charge as this is really unusual to be charging an unknown amount to customer after check out. They said they will release the fund back but till this day I have not gotten my money back.
And the hotel manager (bald white guy) is EXTREMELY RUDE. I don’t know how hyatt trained their employees to be this rude to customers.
Don’t stay at this hotel! Lobby bar drinks were charged to my room. When I called the front desk about these charges, the front desk employee accused me of lying about buying drinks and then implied that my brother had charged drinks to my room. Would not remove the charge and was EXTREMELY rude. Will never book at a Hyatt again.
The location was perfect for my trip. The staff was very welcoming and the hotel was clean and quiet. There is a Starbucks in house.
Firstly, we really enjoyed the Hotel, Staff and location, but AND THIS IS A BIG BUT!
My friend booked this Hotel and was one of several we used on a trip to the USA in November into December 2025. The hotel took over $100 for room incidentals for the two nights. We never do and did not use anything on incidentals. We were advised the money would be credited back to his card within a couple of days. HE HAS STILL NOT RECEIVED THE MONEY BACK AFTER 11 WEEKS!! It is criminal, they claim they released the funds to their holding agent and are washing their hands of the matter. We booked the room direct with them and they should ensure he gets the money credited back. In comparison, The Horseshoe Casino in Las Vegas refunded the money for our stay with them within a couple of hours. If this is how they treat visitors who come to stay I would say AVOID HYATT AT ALL COSTS, it has left a very sour taste to what should have been a memorable trip and we would otherwise of been leaving a good review. We shall not be using Hyatt again. I work in the Travel Industry in the UK and will highlight this to the many colleagues I work with who travel worldwide regularly.
HYATT, WAKE UP AND RESOLVE THIS ISSUE AND TAKE OWNERSHIP.
For $200 a night don’t bother!! We did not have hot water the entire stay. Conditions were sub par and sink was clogged. No ability to shower. When we spoke to the front desk the associate was incredibly rude and said it was because “the hockey team used all the hot water.” No acceptance of responsibility or apology. Won’t be staying here again nor booking clients here.
Very clean. Sink in room clogged but fixed ASAP. Friendly. Close to hockey arena. Easy to get to from airport.
The hotel was very nice and well maintained. We especially enjoyed the convenience of having multiple dining options right in the hotel. The valet situation needs some work. When we arrived the line of cars was down the street and it looked like mass confusion. We decided to park in the lot across instead of wait
A poorly managed mess in a great location with plenty of potential. But suffering from years of under-investment, no attention to detail, and nice, but woefully unprepared/untrained/unsupported staff. American flag was known to be in tatters and still flown. Was without rooms almost 3 hours after check in time - there seemed to be no in house process for managing and room flips as front desk staff had to leave their post multiple times to take the slow elevators to visually confirm that "no, the rooms still weren't ready" Hot water ran out during short showers. Shower lacked caulk seals. Toilet barely flushed. No bathroom fans. No room service as the website suggested. Was told there were no adjoining rooms in the facility (let alone available) when there were clearly adjoins room doors. Was actively picketed by labor unions while we stayed. Driveways and walkways weren't cleared of snow and ice. Onsite Starbucks sold me cold coffee. Peloton screen was loose. No disinfectant spray in the gym. Elevators intermittently worked and were extremely slow. Squishy, old beds. Furniture haphazardly strewn in the room. Lone bright spots were location, the pool, the floor manager of Jimmy D's and the mustached bartender at Genesee.
Customer service was amazing. Any staff we interacted with went above and beyond to be helpful and ensure we were happy. Restaurants were tasty. Room was good. Could use a bit of updating but beds were extremely comfy. Pool area was nice but could use a bit of attention. Overall I would be happy to come back.
We were in town for the last Buffalo Bills game at Highmark stadium and I was really looking forward to staying in a big city downtown hotel. Because of the price, I usually don't stay at such nice places and with a name like Hyatt, you know it's going to be good.
Except it wasn't.
The exterior areas outside the hotel were littered with trash and leftover, half eaten food was left out in the halls. The carpets were dirty and fraying. Where was housekeeping? They weren't apparently cleaning our room because it wasn't ready at 4 or 4:30. The front desk was going to give me a text when the room was ready but they forgot cause when we came back after 5, it had been ready.
Rooms are nice and large with a huge tv but the rooms really need a remodel as the walls are dirty and the light switches not properly in place among other items. Like the Bills themselves, they aren't where they should be, but hey, maybe next year.
I had an absolutely terrible stay. The room temperature was unbearably hot and made it impossible to sleep. Guests have no control over the thermostat, which is unacceptable for any hotel. Despite multiple attempts, there was no way to cool the room down, and the heat was overwhelming all night.
On top of that, the bathroom was disgusting. There was visible mold, which is completely unacceptable and raises serious concerns about cleanliness and health standards. This was not a minor issue but something that clearly had not been addressed for a long time.
Between the extreme heat, lack of temperature control, and filthy bathroom, this was one of the worst hotel experiences I have had. I would not stay here again and would not recommend this hotel to anyone.
Definitely more than I expected. The friendly staff was ready to help. The hotel was very clean the restaurant was awesome.
First time in Buffalo.Excellent customer service at the hotel. Enjoyed our stay. Room is dated like others mentioned but the hotel lobby is beautiful. We will stay here again and hopefully the rooms will get renovated soon.
During my stay here it’s was very nice and cool. Atmosphere was very nice. One of the days I stayed an altercation almost broke out between guests. It was getting pretty heated and as soon as I thought things were about to escalate, security was right on time. There was lots of kids there so I was so happy nothing too crazy happened. The guard there seems well trained and didn’t look like someone who just got out of bed. I asked his name so I could leave a tip at the front desk for him being that I was leaving and left everything in my room. Silly me forgot his freaking name I think it started with a B, Brandon Brenden or something. The way he handled it could have made a big difference in the outcome of the situation and he handled it really well. I would definitely stay again if he’s protecting me lol.
