Very clean. Sink in room clogged but fixed ASAP. Friendly. Close to hockey arena. Easy to get to from airport.
The hotel was very nice and well maintained. We especially enjoyed the convenience of having multiple dining options right in the hotel. The valet situation needs some work. When we arrived the line of cars was down the street and it looked like mass confusion. We decided to park in the lot across instead of wait
A poorly managed mess in a great location with plenty of potential. But suffering from years of under-investment, no attention to detail, and nice, but woefully unprepared/untrained/unsupported staff. American flag was known to be in tatters and still flown. Was without rooms almost 3 hours after check in time - there seemed to be no in house process for managing and room flips as front desk staff had to leave their post multiple times to take the slow elevators to visually confirm that "no, the rooms still weren't ready" Hot water ran out during short showers. Shower lacked caulk seals. Toilet barely flushed. No bathroom fans. No room service as the website suggested. Was told there were no adjoining rooms in the facility (let alone available) when there were clearly adjoins room doors. Was actively picketed by labor unions while we stayed. Driveways and walkways weren't cleared of snow and ice. Onsite Starbucks sold me cold coffee. Peloton screen was loose. No disinfectant spray in the gym. Elevators intermittently worked and were extremely slow. Squishy, old beds. Furniture haphazardly strewn in the room. Lone bright spots were location, the pool, the floor manager of Jimmy D's and the mustached bartender at Genesee.
Customer service was amazing. Any staff we interacted with went above and beyond to be helpful and ensure we were happy. Restaurants were tasty. Room was good. Could use a bit of updating but beds were extremely comfy. Pool area was nice but could use a bit of attention. Overall I would be happy to come back.
We were in town for the last Buffalo Bills game at Highmark stadium and I was really looking forward to staying in a big city downtown hotel. Because of the price, I usually don't stay at such nice places and with a name like Hyatt, you know it's going to be good.
Except it wasn't.
The exterior areas outside the hotel were littered with trash and leftover, half eaten food was left out in the halls. The carpets were dirty and fraying. Where was housekeeping? They weren't apparently cleaning our room because it wasn't ready at 4 or 4:30. The front desk was going to give me a text when the room was ready but they forgot cause when we came back after 5, it had been ready.
Rooms are nice and large with a huge tv but the rooms really need a remodel as the walls are dirty and the light switches not properly in place among other items. Like the Bills themselves, they aren't where they should be, but hey, maybe next year.
I had an absolutely terrible stay. The room temperature was unbearably hot and made it impossible to sleep. Guests have no control over the thermostat, which is unacceptable for any hotel. Despite multiple attempts, there was no way to cool the room down, and the heat was overwhelming all night.
On top of that, the bathroom was disgusting. There was visible mold, which is completely unacceptable and raises serious concerns about cleanliness and health standards. This was not a minor issue but something that clearly had not been addressed for a long time.
Between the extreme heat, lack of temperature control, and filthy bathroom, this was one of the worst hotel experiences I have had. I would not stay here again and would not recommend this hotel to anyone.
Definitely more than I expected. The friendly staff was ready to help. The hotel was very clean the restaurant was awesome.
First time in Buffalo.Excellent customer service at the hotel. Enjoyed our stay. Room is dated like others mentioned but the hotel lobby is beautiful. We will stay here again and hopefully the rooms will get renovated soon.
During my stay here it’s was very nice and cool. Atmosphere was very nice. One of the days I stayed an altercation almost broke out between guests. It was getting pretty heated and as soon as I thought things were about to escalate, security was right on time. There was lots of kids there so I was so happy nothing too crazy happened. The guard there seems well trained and didn’t look like someone who just got out of bed. I asked his name so I could leave a tip at the front desk for him being that I was leaving and left everything in my room. Silly me forgot his freaking name I think it started with a B, Brandon Brenden or something. The way he handled it could have made a big difference in the outcome of the situation and he handled it really well. I would definitely stay again if he’s protecting me lol.
The hotel room was disgusting, not cleaned, hair on the night stand, stains, broken handles, phone disconnected, thermostat barely works. I would never stay at this hotel again even if it was free. Choose somewhere else.
A good location and room is bright and clean. The front desk and parking staff were very friendly. Will come back next year ...
Bed bugs! Im still waiting to hear from the general manager! Highly do not recommend! Still waiting on the call as I spent a lot of money to get there and even more money on a new hotel last minute!
This is a hotel with a great location and a lot of history. You'll feel like a celebrity staying here. The rooms are nice, and the signage says they are being remodeled soon. The bed and pillows were amaizing!
Very good breakfast. Not a buffet but all the options were delicious. The heating in the hotel was good and the room was clean. The only issue was the late checkout, but in general was very good our experience.
Location of the hotel was great. The room was spacious and clean and customer service was excellent. I recommend staying at the Hyatt Regency.
Apparently, this Hyatt is being boycotted locally for union-busting. I wish I had known that before booking. There are barely any staff working and the ones at the front desk don't seem like they are used to being at a front desk. The first room they sent us to had the TV on and the bedding on the floor. The second one has no trash can and the rug is dirty. The Starbucks in the lobby has half its case empty. It's like a deserted hotel. Oh, and there is a weird privacy film on the window of the skyline but you can't see the skyline through it. I'm really disappointed. A Comfort Inn would have been a much better choice for this trip.
Just a bit run down & needing some work on the rooms just how the hotel runs. Very little access to ammenities & nothing really open or working
First time staying at this hotel and was not disappointed , been to the Starbucks before in the entrance way , so we knew location well which is very central with tram stop out side door perfect for going to the hockey, room was slightly dated but you can see they are planning room up grades with pictures outside lift .
Always found team willing to help but we never had any issues .when I go back to buffalo would not hesitate to stay here.
The front lobby staff was very welcoming and very friendly. I really appreciated their kindness and enthusiasm .
As I have seen in other reviews, our room was quite run down and in need of a refurbishment. I understand that this is in the works, but it still was disappointing .
I would also suggest if you are attending an event and would like to eat at the hotel that you make reservations at either of the restaurants well in advance or at another restaurant. We unfortunately were unable to eat at either restaurant. Just an FYI, not so much of a failure of the hotel as our failure to plan properly .
I recently stayed at the Hyatt downtown Buffalo. I saw mixed reviews before my stay...all I can say is ignore it. The staff was incredible and helpful from the moment of my arrival. Yes it may need a little updating in the rooms, but the room was great for being in a historical building in Buffalo. I had wonderful city view from my room and I enjoyed seeing all the old beautiful architecture of Buffalo. The bathroom was very clean .. the food was excellent . I was there for a conference and I felt so welcomed with such great surrounding, I never felt the need to explore outside of the hotel during my stay. Thank Hyatt Regency of Downtown Buffalo.
