Location is at 5 minutes walk from the airport, which is great when it's dry and you don't have big suitcases to take with you. Otherwise, despite the short distance, I would probably get a taxi or uber.
Food in the restaurant was good, but be mindful, in case you arrive late, that the restaurant closes st 21:30

A very tiny bathroom with almost no space to walk through .
Staff on reception at 1am were polite, helpful and accommodating. Lobby and communal areas were nicely presented for a budget hotel and check out process was easy. While the hotel is located close to City Airport and Excel, the area it is located in is still very 'edgy' and has some large commercial units still very close such as the massive Tate & Lyle production facility across the road, a large bus depot a metal recycling depot and others.
Request for room deposit was unexpected & at that time, impossible to resolve by adding a 'nil charge' payment conventionally on bank card so ended up just letting them take a card payment for more than the value of the room for one night to resolve the issue. Refunding the payment also had issues, in part that is because the card used was not registered at the same address as address used when booking although staff were provided with address the card was registered to as well as banking detail information etc., on the night at check in but clearly this information wasn't retained for the staff providing the refund the next day, though that nay well be on the grounds of GDPR/security so happy to resolve that with them over the phone the next day, though it did mean providing them with the bank card information again, which is arguably no more secure than had they retained it from the night before. What a shame the room didn't love up to the impression created by the hotel lobby/bar area. While the room was clean, beds were overly soft, the desk so small that with tea & coffee things on it there was no space left to work at. The space the desk sat within could easily have accommodated a wider desk or fixed shelf to serve the same purpose without having to move everything onto the floor to work. Turning carpet up he walls to form skirting is a really poor detail and badly executed but even worse, this same detail was carried through to the bathroom with a vinyl floor to create a wet room but the bathroom finishes were poorly thought out and executed with the finishes peeling away from walls & floors leading to staining & over time, areas where bacteria & mould will grow & be impossible to clean. Bathroom area also had inadequate shelving. space to place washbag and a small vanity unit would be a much better idea than a tint glass shelf and a wall hung sink only.

The AC is nit strong and has a chemical smell.
The shower drain was very slow and as there was a walk in shower the bathroom was almost flooding
This was my second stay here and staff seemed to make up different policies each time.
