Country Inn & Suites by Radisson, Port Clinton, OH

Possibly due to big crowd of birders at festival- ran out of yogurt., Cream cheese, and low on waffle mix

Pool heater turned off during our stay, ac in room did not work,

Room smelled, hair in bed cover and toilet still had pubic hairs from the last persons using the room. Refrigerator missing shelfs only one, no door usage missing holders.
Hall dirty smelly, room doors all down the hall dirty and remains of sticky patch glue still on the doors that are now holding dirt . ( POOL NO HEAT ) I called before I booked this hotel checked with the manger at this hotel that pool was up and running. She said there was repair work being done to the pool room but it would be open. The pool water was cloudy my 12 year grandchildren were in and out of the pool very quickly. A had both kids take a shower they itched from the pool water. Other guest also remarked that the pool was so cold the day before we arrived they could not use it. The hotel smelled of smoke before you even walked in, VERY STRONG. My grandchildren said that saw several of the hotel employees just out side the entrance door smoking and drinking. I questioned both kids when the said they said drinking beer. Both kids could tell me the brand. This would explain the stink by the main entrance, that reeks. The cigarette butt container must have be full.

Employees seem to be lazy sitting behind the counter, not wanting to stand up upon checking out and workers smoking outside of the entrance’s was not desirable, they should have a smoking area

Staff was awful. We stood at the front desk for at least 5 minutes. We could here the person just around the corner. Not on the phone. Not really doing anything. Then she came around as if we were bothering her. We just wanted our key to check in. I didn't get first floor as requested. I also requested a wake up call that didn't happened. We tried to contact the front desk and know would answer the phones. Someone does not like their job. We arrived at 20:30 on 4/1/2026.

When checking in the lady was asleep & it took the phone ringing for her to wake up to check us in.. and the hotel had a smell to it.

Bed was supper uncomfortable along with pillows the pool was cold ,it was 48 degrees outside the windows in the pool room were open no heat they were fixing the drywall inside had windows open for ventilation it was freezing & looked like a bad horror movie . The whole reason we booked a room was for our daughters birthday to swim ,drastically different than images online very disappointed for what we paid .

The breakfast was unremarkable. Same thing 3 of the 4 mornings...and the breads seemed stale. Coffee cups available did not have lids that fit. Only fruit was tangerines...no variety. The other large issue was the pool room. We have used this hotel for 4 years for a family trip and this year was disappointing to say the least. The pool was cold, mold throughout the room, surely not clean or kept in good repair. Drywall falling apart, corner rotting and peeling. The window screens were frayed in the pool room as well. Sadly, we will be looking for alternative. We were very pleased for the 1st 2 years...but this is not worth the money. The hallway on the second floor was filthy and needed to be vacuumed. Wasn't cleaned until our last day. Our children and grandchildren all come together here, but my husband and myself couldn't enjoy the pool and our Grand daughter was shivering by the time she got out after 30 minutes. 2 king suites for 4 days...appreciate the size of the room, but the pool was a total letdown.
