Very disappointed with the customer care.
Pros:

This hotel looked like it could be a great place to stay but we never actually got to stay here.

Cons:

When arriving at the property we were told there was a problem with our room and we could not stay as they had no other rooms available. They told us they had booked us into a hotel which was much more inferior, I said I was not happy and wanted a similar hotel quality, they informed me that every other hotel in the area of the sane quality was booked and that was the only hotel available. I spent two minutes on booking.com and found a suitable hotel 500 meters away from the Lord Elgin, the supervisor refused to put us in that hotel due to cost, I contacted booking.com customer service who were very helpful and booked us into our preferred hotel and also said they would refund the difference. Unfortunately this whole episode took over 2 hours to sort which meant we lost the evening by the time we got settled in the bee hotel and all the restaurants were closed in the area. This whole situation could have been avoided if the Lord Elgin had done the right thing and booked us in a decent hotel. The hotel looked lovely but the customer care was atrocious.

Very good stay, worked very well for a two night stay in Ottawa.
Pros:

Great location. So close to Parliament and other great places to visit. Very large room. Comfy bed. Robes and coffee machine.

Cons:

Noisy air conditioning.

Avrei preferito una stanza più lontana dai compressori esterni del sistema di climatizzazione dell’albergo, il rumore era comunque minimo, tollerabile anche di notte.

Good location but extremely noisy due to Jazz Festival.
Pros:

The breakfast was excellent but expensive so we only went once in 4 day stay.

Cons:

We were unfortunate to book a room during the Jazz Festival. Our room would otherwise have been great, as it overlooked the park. The Jazz Festival provided not so melodious music until midnight each night we were there. When we mentioned our inability to sleep to the staff, they simply offered us earplugs!
I was keen to try the pool, but it was overcrowded as the hotel was very busy.
There was nowhere to hang towels so that they could dry.

Great location. Lovely hotel!
Pros:

Great location. Spacious, clean room. Luxury linen.

Cons:

Staff in dining room and morning coffee staff were not very friendly. No enthusiasm! Did what they had to do.
