I recently stayed at Courtyard by Marriott in Kakkanad, and unfortunately, my experience was disappointing.

The room itself was comfortable, but the air conditioning was not working properly, which made the stay less enjoyable. The gym was decent and well maintained, which was one of the positive aspects of the hotel.

The biggest disappointment was the buffet. The selection was quite limited, and some of the food did not seem as fresh as expected from a Marriott property. I have stayed at the Courtyard by Marriott near the airport, and the buffet there was significantly better in terms of both variety and quality. Compared to that experience, this one fell short of expectations.

I hope the hotel improves its food quality, buffet selection, and room maintenance, as it has the potential to provide a much better guest experience.

Worst experience

We visited for the dinner buffet as a group of six people on 9th. Unfortunately, the experience was disappointing.

The service was average, but the food quality was very poor. The chicken dishes were overcooked and dry. The pastries looked appealing, but they tasted overly sweet and lacked any real flavor. Apart from a few South Indian dishes, which were quite good, most of the food was bland and lacked seasoning.

Another disappointing aspect was the lack of staff attention. No one checked on our table during the meal, and nobody asked for feedback about our experience.

Overall, we were not satisfied with the buffet and do not plan to visit again.
