Visited last June 2022 and stayed for 2 days when we are passing thru Albay going to Samar. The place is not the best but i rated this 5 since the staff are very helpful. I recommend this place for transient only. I also like the serving of their breakfast meals.

The hotel is okay but don't expect too much. The bed was rather uncomfortable, the breakfast not so good and the overall condition of the hotel was quite shabby.
For the price this is okay

Sometimes its hard to look for hotel staff and I always need to ask for extra towel because they did not give us enough for 3. It takes time before they can give it to you. Other than that place was in the city so its close by the malls for easy access.

Our family consists of my father, my mother, my sister, and me. We arrived in Tabaco City at 9:00 PM. We are a walked-in hotel guest.

STAFF
The staff were very accommodating. We have a couple of bags and things which we could actually carry in the room but still, the hotel guy offered his hand on our things and accompanied us politely on our room. On the next day, we went to somewhere and left our key on the receptionist. Before we could ask, the receptionist already offered room cleaning which was nice. The staff know their job really well so 5 stars for them.

HOTEL
Outside, it looks very small but inside, it's not that small. It has a lobby with free WiFi (it's not accessible inside the room). It has an elevator that can fit 4-6 persons. It also has a parking space but it's limited for like 3 cars only. I hope that they would make the WiFi available even inside the hotel room.

HOTEL ROOM
We had the family suite which consists of 2 double beds, an AC unit that made the room cold enough for us, and a cable TV. The beddings and the pillows are clean. The towels and soap are provided. The bathroom has a separate tub and shower area so it's your choice. But the only thing I've noticed is that the sink is clogged. Other than that, the room was great. It's a 4.5 star for me.

ROOM SERVICE
As I've mentioned, the receptionist offered room cleaning and when we went back to the hotel, our room were already cleaned and the beddings and pillows were changed. Everything was organized and they didn't meddle our things from where we left those (aside from my mom's plastic bag which is fine). Also, their room service is fast because after we called the receptionist regarding a certain matter (order food, dish out), 3-5 mins. after the call, the staff is there knocking on our door. I give 5 stars for the room service.

FOOD
I think the food was great considering that it was a Japanese food although they have also a menu for Filipino food. My only suggestion is that they should also offer more local foods the Bicol Region is famous for and Filipino foods in general because that's what the tourists are looking for. For this, I give 3.5 stars.

LOCATION
The hotel's location is perfect. It's located beside the market. The main road is few blocks away and the souvenir shop is few walks away from the hotel (like 1-3 min. walk). Me and my mom actually bought some things on the market as well as on the souvenir shops and nearby mall (LCC Mall Tabaco). If you want to eat, there are several establishments like Jollibee, Mcdonalds, Chowking or eateries beside it. Tricycles, jeepneys, and pedicabs are also accessible. If you want to go to church, St. John the Baptist Church is along main road. The location is a huge 5 stars.

TINY INFO
The hotel offers massage. YOU COULD SIGHT THE MT. MAYON (in the early morning because Mayon is shy).

OVERALL
It's perfect for the family. It's budget friendly and the room is great. Few improvements especially on the bathroom and the menu. For me, the most perfect thing in this hotel is its location. The locations was perfect. If given the chance, our family would really like to stay here again.

The staff are very accommodating. Good thing is they have elevator to go up and down to the hotel. Rooms are neat and clean. Amenities are very good. The location is very accessible and it is near Public Market. Just 5 mins away from the main road. You can see from here the beauty of Mt. Mayon.

We booked for a family room and we were quite satisfied with the interior space of the room they gave to us. The exterior was smelling very bad because of the renovation and the painting of the walls at the corridors.
The area of the hotel is quite understandably noisy and crowded especially during daytime because it's situated very close to the market.
Just as soon as we were settling, a cockroach passed by. We manage to kill it and complained to the reception. They said they will send somebody to spray the room. After few minutes, the second cockroach came and we have to kill it again. It took a while for them to come and spray the area and had to show them the dead cockroaches we killed and swept to the corridor. We thought that embarrassment will prompt them to remove the insects at the corridor but it remained there until the following morning. Another cockroach appeared on our third day that I had to kill it myself. I really hate cockroach!
The soap provided for our family room was one tiny piece...no more no less. Good thing that we have our own.
The shower at the tub was operational but the pressure was very low. The shower at the shower area has same pressure that we ended up using the bucket provided to take shower.
Internet is free but can be accessed at the lobby which happens to be so crowded when I attempted to access the wifi. Aside from that, others were talking loudly as if they were in their own living room.
The room was packaged by free breakfast for two and when we demanded it on our first morning at the hotel, we were told that restaurant will open at 10am and only then they can serve the breakfast.
The receptionist at the counter seems to be a trainee for the job. When I gave my cash deposit, she just took it and did not bother to make a receipt until I demanded it. She even clarified if I really needed a receipt and another staff beside her murmured that she has to make a receipt. Same person we asked for the closure of a nearby famous restaurant where she gave us a false information. We inquired other information but always we got a blank response.
Other staffs were ok and provided good service.
We requested a massage service for my father and after 2.5 hours waiting for the time agreed, we have to cancel cause it's already his bedtime.
One good thing about this hotel is that they have an elevator.

This was our family vacation. Our family consists of our grandmother (75yrs old) on a wheelchair, my 9yr old kid, her uncle and dad.

Please note that i have specific requirements for an accommodation.

BOOKING:
I had checked several accommodations in Tabaco City. Some would tell me that they do not have an access for PWD while some are very expensive. Tabaco city is not a tourist area thus our choices for accommodation are limited.

Tabaco Gardenia Hotel was recommended by Trip Advisor. I made a call and i was answered by ms. Leth. She was very accommodating and helpful. She even booked two kinds of room for us (deluxe room and the family suite). She told us that upon arrival， i can readily choose which room will suite my requirement and budget.

She also didnt require me any deposit to secure the room.

For this i gave the hotel 5 stars.

LOCATION:

The hotel was easy to find. It is located beside the market and behind the tabaco city mall.
It is near food establishments like graceland， mcdonalds, jollibee, chowking, among others.

The street is full of tricycles and padyaks. It was a busy street during the day and very quiet at night.

Some may not appreciate the location if you are very sensitive with the smell. Since the hotel is beside the market, one must expect that when you go out of the hotel you will be welcome with the distinct smell from the market place.

It offers a limited parking space but because i made an arrangement in advance i was given a priority in the parking space.

For this i give the hotel 5 stars.

THE HOTEL
The hotel is a 5 storey building with an elevator that can fit 6 persons. Though if you have a PWD with you,it will only fit the wheel chair and the person accompanying the PWD.

There are standard room, double room, deluxe room, and family suite. We were assigned in a deluxe room. It has 2 double bed that can really fit 2 persons (i just added an extra bed because we are 5 pax). I have asked the family suite before but ms. Leth said that the way to the family suite has a 2-3 steps which will be difficult for my PWD lola so she just transferred us to the double deluxe and add an extra bed which is near the elevator for an easy access.

We were charged a total of Php4000 for 4days which is just fine given that this is the only hotel in the area that is PWD friendly and within our budget.

THE ROOM
The room has a cable tv, AC unit that makes the room cold enough for 5pax.

The beddings are clean and comfortable. Towels and soap were provided.
However, the toilet and bath are clean BUT the sink is clog and the hot shower is hard to adjust.

CLEANLINESS
The room was clean when we arrived BUT WE WERE WELCOMED WITH A COCKROACH! This was not a good sign of a well maintained room :(. Though, i assumed it was due to the open window in the bathroom.

The staff made sure that the room was cleaned before we arrived from our day`s trip.

For this i will rate gardenia hotel 3 thumbs up only.

STAFF
They are very friendly, helpful, and accommodating. Though, whenever i call for room service, i have to call twice for our request before it arrived. But other than this, the hotel staff are doing a good job.

INTERNET
The WIFI is free BUT it is only available at the lobby of every floor.

OTHERS
We have not tried their food though but it seems the price is reasonable. The hotel restaurant has a family package which can be cheaper for the whole family.

But if you are on a budget, the hotel allows you to bring in your own food at no extra cost.

Specifically booked a room with a view. On arrival shown to a room with a view of a brick wall 3 foot from the window, Asked to be moved and shown to another room, this one with no toilet seat or shower curtain. Refused to refund deposit so left and went to another hotel.

LOCATION: very close to the market, port, and establishments. If you are planning to go to Virac the next day (6:30am Virac, and 7am San Andres), this is the optimal location. You can just ride a tri-sikad/tuk-tuk (PHP10).

SERVICE/STAFF: Staff is good. Very helpful. The first room assigned for us, the door was busted and we can't enter so we moved to another room. They were there all the time to assist us. Checking-in/out is also a breeze.

CLEANLINESS: Brutally honest? We were welcomed by a large cockroach in the room. I was shocked, and was not able to kill it.

COST: Overnight stay is around $22 for a double bed. I would say this is relatively expensive in this part of the Philippines. Although it would be difficult to find some decent hotels in this city.

SLEEP QUALITY: We had a good night sleep. The vicinity is very quiet.

Gardenia hotel is the best hotel in Tabaco City.The reception is small but employees were kind and it has pictures in it of famous people here in the Philippines.And has a 24 hrs security

The room was clean and spacious.They have a TV but it was kinda old so....Mehh...

The foods were good specially the local dishes haha

And the best thing that I liked about the hotel was the 5th floor.It has a great view of the Mayon volcano.It has also VIP room which is great.They provide DVD Player and has some free Cd's NICEEEE

What a find. From the jeepney, bus stop at the shops, go across the car park straight through the shopping mall, there is a street just to the right and 60 mtrs. Worth the walk, off the street, views of the volcano and even includes breakfast. Large and clean c/r as well. I will stay here again.

I am prejudiced to Tabaco City. I can't say why but I like it. I've been there four times in 5 years of visits. This hotel was the second hotel I stayed at in Tabaco (July 2010). Price is right. Location is excellent (behind the market rather than close to the busy main street). the elevator conked out a few minutes AFTER we took our bags up to the room so we did a lot of 3 floor walking but no complaints. The room was an odd one. It was a "two-bed" room but when you go in you wonder where the second bed is. Its rolled up under the big queen bed. The air conditioner was "noisy" but a window aircon is never quiet. Walk out of the room to the front of the hotel and overlook the street and see some magnificent sunrises over the city and sunsets over the other direction. The 2nd floor has a meeting room that can be rented big enough for 30-40 people for a meeting or about 20-25 for a dinner (with a small stage area).

I already been to Gardenia Hotel twice and the service is great. I just call, reserve a date over the phone and voila! no problem when I get there. They are very lenient and concern with their guest that they even allow check in as early as 5AM with no extra charge! The room is only 950 per night. Very spacious. The view is good, employees are courteous. This is not a 5 star hotel but it's the service and friendliness of the staff that would really make you feel special.

I would always go back to this hotel every time i visit Tabaco. Quiet and peaceful. See you again on May!

My father needs a cool and quiet sorrounding. This was the main reason for our stay in this hotel.

Hotel grounds are well maintained. You'll also love to seat at the roof top while enjoying the great view of Mt. Mayon, this hotel is also the choice of some local celebrity during there visits on mayo0n!
Staff are friendly and helpful. Security is tight. Keycard is also used for the elevator.

Gardenia is only a few walks away from a mall and restaurants. and supermarkets.

Overall: We had a comfortable and enjoyable stay in this hotel!

My wife and son and I stayed at the Gardenia Hotel for three nights. Having never stayed in a hotel outside the U.S., except in Canada, I wasn't sure what to expect. Tabaco City is a working town, not a tourist attraction, and as we made our way along the streets to the Gardenia, I began to wonder what we'd find when we checked in.

But the Gardenia was very nice. The rooms were clean and comfortable, and the staff was very accommodating. When we couldn't get the air conditioning to work in the first room we checked into, the staff immediately moved us to another. We didn't order anything other than drinks from the hotel restaurant, so I can't say much about the menu, but the service was very good. The food market, the LCC department store, and several eateries are not too far from the Gardenia.

All in all, we enjoyed our stay.
