Lovely friendly pub. Staff very welcoming, dinner and breakfast good.
Pros:

Loved the character of this old pub. Although our room was basic, it was spacious, clean, as was the en-suite shower, and the bed was comfortable. it looked over the church grounds which was pleasant too.

Cons:

Nothing we didn’t like. Parking is limited though, and access through the narrow archway from the busy street can be tricky especially if you have a big car. Also the stairs to the rooms need to be taken with care, and could be a problem for those with poor mobility. However both these issues, although worth noting, are due to the age of this lovely old property.

Lovely staff nice food. Poor room.
Pros:

Location was good. Staff very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was nice

Cons:

The room was poorly appointed - no soap, shower gel etc. Central heating radiator on full tilt and impossible to turn off. I had to cover the radiator with a towel and fully open window to avoid being cooked and it was still uncomfortably hot.

Never again!
Pros:

The staff were friendly and polite

Cons:

Poor parking, room for 4 cars, one behind the other, access via a narrow alleyway next to the side of hotel. The car park wasn't signposted. I drove around the one way system 4 times, trying to find the car park, had to ring the hotel in the end, even then I had to pull up on a busy main road to ask in the bar, it was only then I saw the alleyway. The bedroom was like a sauna, I couldn't adjust the radiator, which was so hot, you couldn't touch it. I was mainly worried about my dogs overheating. I asked Dan at the bar to have a look, but no-one appeared. I had to leave the window open all night, which didn't help with the volume of the karaoke/disco til 11.30. They have regular weekend events like this, but not mentioned in the booking info. Then all night, as on the main road, lorries from the local chicken factory, rumbling through. Food was passable, but limited veggie choice. Attleborough seemed a very busy town, lots of traffic, loud people, not much green space for dog walks. Nice church next to hotel, as long as you don't mind chiming clocks.

Comfortable night sleep with basic facilities. Cheap and cheerful
Pros:

Great location very central and fair price.

Cons:

Rooms could do with some updating and a little more attention to detail with the cleaning. But comfortable and good value for money for 1 night stay.
Restaurant area used for breakfast could have been cleaner , sticky tables covered with sugar and salt granules from previous sitting.

Husband not impressed
Cons:

Lack of things like something to rinse your mouth with or have water with overnight. No spare toilet paper nowhere to put wash bags nowhere to hang coat or towels only a trickle of water in the shower

Dog-friendly and Popular Pub with Rooms
Pros:

Interesting - and historic - building next to the parish church. It was buzzing with activity over the Easter weekend, with a programme of music attracting locals and others. Our bedroom (No 6 on the first floor) was wonderfully wonky, but comfortable and it had every5ing we wanted. The en-suite shower room was large and well-equipped. Regardless of the live - and loud - music in the bar, we couldn’t hear a thing in our bedroom. We parked on the road opposite (free for two hours and between 6pm and 8am); there is also free parking in the courtyard. Supper was good, especially the delicious apple crumble and custard plus cream. The chef was absent (unwell) the next morning, but the limited menu was okay; we would have welcomed a second cup of coffee, though. Good walks for our dog from the doorstep.

Perfect for what we needed!
Pros:

Lovely pub, rooms were great, clean and hosts were fab! Breakfast was superb!

Cons:

Very creaky but is an old building.
Toilet did let off a bad smell once flushed (probably will need looking at) but we kept the window open and it wasn’t an issue.

A grubby and unwelcoming place!
Pros:

Nothing

Cons:

Claimed to have parking, it may have, but for no more than a couple of small cars! Generally grubby and everything is worn out, broken and / or cheap. The curtains in my room were on the floor upon arrival, including the rail. Bathroom was not particularly clean. The evening staff were not friendly or welcoming.
