Gorgeous weather stay in Helen, Ga.
Pros:

Great two day stay in the city of Helen at the Fairfield Inn and Suites by Marriott! Gorgeous weather helped too. We enjoyed two German restaurants, especially the Hofbrau Restaurant, dining by the river!
Took a hike from Unicoi Lodge and watched the zip liners overhead.

Quiet and close
Pros:

Lovely hotel. Quiet. Close enough to walk to restaurants and parks. My only complaint is lack of TV stations. News and sports are the majority.

This hotel does not meet the bar set by the Marriott brand
Pros:

I really really liked the location. The manager is an amazing person and went above and beyond the limitations of the place. But he's fighting a losing battle (and seems to be the only person running the place).

Cons:

The place does not meet the Marriott bar. 1. Fox News propaganda is playing all the time in the hotel lobby. This is just stupid in a place that's trying to attract visitors. 2. We were initially given a room where the beds were not made and all the sheets were on the floor. We then asked and got a different room. 3. I accidentally flooded the bathroom (shower water fell outside) but the help did not enter the room to fix it by mopping the floor (as far as we could tell). 4. The room was not cleaned and the beds were not made for the entirety of our trip.

There were two bugs in my room one crawling on the sheets and a dead roach by the curtains. Disgusting they need to hire fumigations

We traveled for Oktoberfest in Helen and loved our stay as it had everything we needed.

Pros:

Excellent location and parking lot.The powered eggs were so bad we did not eat them.
Chose to have muffins and melon instead.You really need to serve real eggs.
We enjoyed our two nights stay.
