The resort was just magical, even better than I had hoped.
The staff are lovely, especially those that attend to the Husky dogs on a daily basis.
There was nothing I didn't like about the resort, except having to leave!!
I stayed in one of the snow rooms and it was without doubt the most memorable experience of my Norway trip (I slept surprisingly well!)
The location is stunning and very peaceful, the facilities (restaurant/ sauna etc) are great and being able to go and meet the resident dogs whenever you like was a bonus.
The best thing about this place though is the staff, who are super friendly and welcoming and go out of their way to make sure you have a nice stay.
For info: meals are taken in a communal dining hall and there is a set menu, but if you have dietary requirements just tell them and they will cater for you. The set sauna times are early in the morning but you just have to ask and they will turn it on anytime.
The sauna along with lockers, luggage storage space and very clean showers and toilets are in a building adjoining the snow hotel and there is also a lounge where snow room guests can hang out and stay warm. The snow hotel rooms are open to visitors to wander around from 9am to 9pm - after that the room is yours.
I didn’t baulk at splashing out on the snow room stay because it’s a unique experience, but I thought 600 NOK per person for a 15-minute minibus ride to the airport was a bit excessive. This is the only thing that stops me giving 10/10.
מקום מדהים
We went for KV with Heikki and Mikkel. They were the absolute best guides in the world and we had a super time. The ladies of the group has week knees, because they were so handsome too.
Wonderful experience. Something that I only dreamed about but never thought I would get the chance. Thanks to winning on The Price Is Right show.
Definitely different than Kansas and so amazing. Everyone spoke English, all staff and most of guest. Staff were very friendly .. got mixed information from reception desk on a few things. Embarrassed me.
Very cold, but we were prepared,
Slept in the snow hotel first night. Yay, I did it! Signed up for king crab safari, husky ride. Hikes up the hill, saw northern lights. Son went ice fishing. Gamma cabins were beautiful. WiFi yes. No TV, microwave, in room fridge.. but you are so entertained that you don't need them. Time to get away and experience this different world.
Got up everymorning, put on all our clothing . To eat breakfast. Breakfast was included in our stay and it was buffet style. guests came from
everywhere. Part of the world .
The only place to eat during the day was a small eatery that offer soup.of the day, pre-made wraps, pastries. It closed at 5pm. And then hotel restaurant had a 3 course meal that was $90 Per person and featured wonderful meal made with local food. We ate reindeer steak, and lamb. With king crab safaris they cooked the crab. Too much to eat. If you were on a tighter budget. You would still have to catch a taxi into town ( approx $45 dollars each way) or rent a car . seems that most of restaurants are opened around 6pm in town. Only place we found open during the day was a bistro in the small mall. Food there was fair to good.
Loved the reindeer pen and husky dog area. And hiking
Overall had a wonderful time and yes I would recommend it to others, just keep in mind of the expenses if your on a budget.
We had the amazing experience on Hunting the Northern Lights Snow Mobile Safari. Our guide Knut was wonderful and he took us to 3 different locations and we saw the Aurora Borealis dancing and in their full glory.
Thank you Knut for making this a once in a life time experience 😁
Would thoroughly recommend this excursion and location.
We had the most amazing experience with Knut our snow mobile safari guide. We drove to three different locations on the frozen fjords and saw fantastic Aurora Borealis displays!
I would thoroughly recommend this experience and Knut was a great guide!
The best winter experience ever! Amazing snowmobile driving at frozen fjord Kirkenes! Super recommend it!!
Just went their for a huskey ride.
Wonderful experience very knowledgeable drivers. Saw a very dull aurora while we were sitting around a camp fire in the snow. What is also key is that they take care of their dogs.
The only slight disappointment was that no pre booked arrangements were made to take us back to our hotel. We had to wait for a receptionist to arrive (15 mins) and then for a taxi to come from the town centre.
The staff was more than helpfull and super friendly. The food was excellent and all kind of activities were offered. The cabins were nice.
There was only one daily menu offe
red, two menues to choose from would be better. There is no room to relax in the sauna and you have to sit like in a shop window. There was no room for deckchairs to relax. There was no room service although we stayed for three nights. A music device in the cabins would be nice.
The property feels lovely and remote even though it is only 25 minutes from Kirkenes. Stayed in the Snowhotel. Had the best nights sleep. Meals were lovely.
A bit too touristy.
Booked a two-night package that included a night in the snow hotel and a night in a cabin. The package also included breakfast and dinner each day, as well as a couple of excursions. From the moment we arrived we were well looked after. The staff were friendly and attentive which made for a fantastic experience. Snow hotel, although cold, was a great experience. The sleeping bags provided keep you cost and warm. The cabins are comfortable with a lovely view out over the natural environment. It made spotting the northern lights very easy. We enjoyed the husky ride and king crab excursions and appreciated the additional gear that was provided to keep us warm. Overall, we had a fantastic few days.
