First room had nasty stains in the rug, second room the tv and phone didn’t work. 3rd was good

Cons:

First impressions mean a lot and the young lady at the front desk was not welcoming. I initially went in early to see if early check in was allowed. The young lady at the front desk said no which is understandable but she wasn’t friendly and welcoming. Her tone was harsh and her answers were short. If I wasn’t gonna be charged a fee for not canceling by a certain time I probably would have found a different hotel just off first impression. When I came back for regular check in she was more pleasant as there was a manager standing there. I then had to switch rooms 3x before I got a suitable room.

Pros:

Property was beautiful - easy access and good location

Cons:

The sink in our room would not drain, the bathroom had an odd smell, restaurant on site is not open the hours listen and no outdoor seating.

Bad location with no real transportation (no shuttle bus)
Pros:

The staff was nice but when you talked with them it was like I was talking to AI.
The cleaning crew was really nice.

Cons:

The location!! It stated that it was I think a little over a mile and 7 to the city I think. But stated they had a shuttle bus. I thought it would be a person on the scene always there to take the people even just to the train station to the hotel or to the city. When I called from the train station to get picked up, they told me that I had to put in a request and it is first come first serve.
The building is beautiful but the location is really shady, right off a highway in other words in no way a good view out the window.
For the price I paid I can only give them a 1 1/2 mostly because the cleaning staff was great. The rooms were really clean..

Pros:

The waitress & chef went out of their way to prepare a piece of 11-layer red velvet cake with strawberries & whipped cream for our granddaughter's 8th birthday. She felt like a princess. This is an unusual kindness & we are grateful.

Cons:

The trashcans outside the entrance were more than full -- they were overflowing with trash. there was also trash strewn in the parking lot. Seems like an easy fix to an otherwise very nice hotel.

Good location
Pros:

The location of this hotel to the University of Maryland is excellent and it is not in a busy area and easy to get to. However, there were multiple large stains on the carpet and even though the room had 2 queens, and the reservation listed 3 guests - there were only 2 towels. The light on the bed was broken. The bathroom was not cleaned well and a bar of soap in a box the previous guest used was still in the shower. We did have a breakfast voucher and the breakfast was good and the staff that worked there was wonderful. Strongly recommend the hotel replace the carpet with a wood product. Due to the cleanliness, we will likely not stay here again.

Amazing
Pros:

Me and my Wife loved everything about the property, it was our first time staying at this location and it did not disappoint! Breakfast was amazing, and We were able to get late check out, being reward members! We will definitely be back here again!
