Hampton Inn Albany-Wolf Road

We typically enjoy staying at Hampton Inns and have come to expect a consistent level of quality from the Hampton Inn/Hilton brand. Unfortunately, this property did not meet those expectations.

On a positive note, every staff member we interacted with was friendly, professional, and helpful. We were in town for an event at Siena University, and the location is very convenient to campus, as well as numerous restaurants and shopping options.

The biggest issue was our guest room. It was extremely damp and had a noticeable mildew odor throughout our stay. We reported our concerns about the bathroom exhaust fan to the front desk. Maintenance responded promptly and explained that the fan was functioning as designed, noting that the hotel had recently replaced the fans with quieter models after guests complained about noise. While we appreciated the quick response, the fan simply was not adequate for the space. After each shower, the bathroom was covered in condensation for several hours after, and nothing in the bathroom would dry.

The bathroom itself is also very small and lacks functional storage. There is almost no counter space and no shelving or cabinets under the vanity, leaving very few places to store toiletries or clothing. Even the hair dryer has to hang from one of the towel hooks because there isn't a designated storage area.

We also discovered that the toilet was not functioning when we arrived. Again, the staff responded quickly and repaired it, which we appreciated.

Overall, the hotel feels very worn and could benefit from updates and improved maintenance. One section of the hallway carpet had been repaired with duct tape, which left a poor first impression, and the property did not feel as clean or well maintained as we typically expect from a Hampton Inn.

While we appreciated the excellent customer service and convenient location, we will choose different accommodations the next time we visit the Albany/Siena area.

Cathy, at reception, was exceptional at welcome and gave full information on services, breakfast, and even checked later that all was to my satisfaction..

Convenient

I loved the location because there were good restaurants close by.

I will not return to this place even if the room was clean and staff nice ,first not one room in all hotel has smart tv , i know because i asked reception to change room because of it and they told me all rooms hotel was like that ,the bath was having rust stain inside of it ,I put a towel inside bath to stand on it when I took my shower. I never saw a toilet so low I was having impression to sit on floor everytime that i was using it and I'm only 5'4 , we were having 4 pillows but so thin . Breakfeast was good .

Nice and quite . Easy access to all Albany establishments
