Stonetrail has great rooms which are furnished to a high standard . It’s just a few metres from Indian bay beach and near villa beach . The staff are very friendly and welcoming - nothing is too much trouble .
There were extensive building works going on at present . Although the noise did not affect us .
Beautiful comfortable bed, location to the beach was great (100 metrss), facilities in the village and the size of the villa was more than adequate.
The AC was excellent as was the spacious living area.
The water pressure to both the shower and the sinks was terrible. It's very disappointing when you have a luxurious shower but when you enter it the pressure is terribly low.
The fridge had an awful stench of fish, it needed a deep clean and airing out.
No complimentary bottled water upon arrival. That would have been a nice hospitalable touch.
I did not like the $175(US) Holding fee as a 'Deposit'.
The location- near the beach. However, because of the recent storm that washed out stones on the beach front walking into the sea makes it difficult and caused sore feet.
October 2025
THIS REVIEW IS THE WHOLE TRUTH.
Prior to COVID I stayed in the apartment located at the front of the courtyard to the left - at that time the accommodation was good.
Returning for another holiday (15 October to 29 October 2025) I also invited other members of my extended families to book to stay at Stone trail Villas which they did. However, THIS TRIP THINGS HAVE CHANGED:
- staff was not welcoming. In fact, we had to initiate a warm greeting to them.
- if they our names they did not use them at all.
My sister’s apartment:
- my sister Glenda - stayed in the front apartment that I stayed in on the previous holiday. THIS TIME RAT DROPPINGS WAS FOUND IN THE CUTLERY DRAWER which I saw with my own eyes and despite informing staff nothing was done because the RAT DROPPINGS continued. Hence, I refused to accept a drink or eat when my sister offered.
The sofa in their lounge was poor - it sunk in when you sit on it.
My own apartment: called ‘superior’ is not as its name suggests. The sofa was ok but needed cushion to cushion the back rest . There were no cushions so sitting on the sofa was uncomfortable.
The air condition: was faulty. There were times in the bedroom the air condition could not change the temperature because the controls did not work which I reported the next morning but for that night my rest and sleep was deprived because the room became too hot.
The air condition in the lounge started to leak spilling out water onto the lounge floor making it a hazard. I had to mop up the water with our bath towels and then spread bath towels down to contain the water - by bedtime the leaking had not been fixed and I put bowls out to catch the water ( I took picture). A few days later the same problem happened and again I had to do the same with the towels and pots.
Front door lock faulty: the first night locking the door to the accommodation failed.
Gated peaceful environment, good location, staff were very helpful and friendly. The beach is only 5 minutes away. Cooking facilities. Comfortable outdoor seating areas. Airport transfer provided for a reasonable fee.
No room service was provided nor offered during our stay. My last visit here, it was offered daily. The kitchen cupboards are positioned too high so we struggled to reach plates and items on the shelves. Electrical item in kitchen had US plug yet the sockets are UK style. Staff were quick to change item once we told them. No kitchen paper towel or condiments provided. Having stayed at a variety of price ranged establishments this trip we were surprised to see these items not provided. Also the toilet tissue was very thin compared to everywhere else we stayed. I believe the quality of some items were better when I previously stayed here several years ago.
I liked the location and the quiet until daytime hours - the property should have let us know they are under construction.
Construction noises. Wifi did not work 99% of the time - that was very frustrating

Great location and so peaceful… I am in love with the super comfy bed, I had a great nights sleep.
The only minor issue was the WiFi - my laptop was fine but the phone only connected when I was leaving… maybe fate said I wasn’t supposed to be working? 😄
Property was spacious and well equipped
The lack of hot water for showers and washing up They have construction going on, but it didn’t spoil our time there
The property is under major renovation. Staff helpful but hoping to have someone available by phone on Sunday
