This hotel is classed as 5 star but from previous experience this certainly isn’t the case. There is no concierge services nor leaflets to advise about the area, if they had, we wouldn’t have wasted our day as never found the sun world and the many shops and restaurants until they were closing.
Lovely swimming pool and rooftop bar, shame there were no staff to serve drinks or food there.
Check-in was a chore, no communication to the customers, no English speaking staff on reception to help. They came across rude and unhelpful and left us waiting for quite a while not knowing if we had a room or not!
If you can only speak English I would suggest you stayed 5 minutes further down the road at the Wyndham which is in a more tourist area.
The room's view was wonderful, the breakfast was varied.
The shower was not warm enough, WiFi was weak.
A very nice and modern room/hotel, with a view over the bay. Unfortunately, the positive stops here.
- Very difficult to communicate with the staff. Didn't meet anyone who could speak decent English.
- No information about activities and the area in Ha Long
- Check-in took 30-45 minutes, without understanding why
- They didn't want to serve lunch at first. When we finally, after over an hour, ordered food, we were told after 20 minutes of waiting that they didn't have hamburgers.
- We went down to the restaurant at 9pm to buy dinner. This was then closed. Very strange in a five star hotel.
- The power went out about 10 times over the course of two days. The longest period without power was about 30 minutes. It was completely dark. No explanation.
- Breakfast lasted until 09:30. We were there at 09:20. We were told they were closing now.
- Asked for an expresso at breakfast. Was told to order this at the cafe outside.
All in all, this is very far from the expected service of a five star hotel. Very disappointing
Seaview is excellent. Good decoration
pool
they don’t have room service after 8-9 pm
Nice and clean hotel. The pool was amazing. The breakfast was one of the best in Vietnam. Highly recommended
24h room service is not 24h, it was not available after 10PM. There is no restaurants nearby that are open after 10PM. Hotel staff was not very helpful, but were nice in general. Bed isn't great, but overall room was really good.
Very nice
Great hotel for its purpose. We stayed here, because we needed to get on one of the boats in Ha Long Bay the day after. Booked this one, as it was closest to our starting point. More of a luxury business hotel, but with great facilities and very spacious and nice rooms. View over the bay is just amazing and the roof-top swimming pool was probably the best feature.
We had dinner at the hotel, as it's outside of the Ha Long city center, and this wasn't impressive. Not for a 5-star hotel at least. Wasn't bad either, but I would expect more of this.
The hotel is beautiful! The view is fantastic! The breakfast buffet was incredible. But, there are a couple things that are weird!
If you get in the beautiful rooftop pool, you’re not allowed to sit in the poolside chairs???
The poolside bar is open till late, but the pool closes at 8:00, so don’t plan on sitting at the pool sipping a cocktail.
The air conditioning units in the room won’t go below 22 degrees Celsius, so if you like to sleep cuddled up under a blanket, forget that.
Check in staff were very unhelpful, very little English, wasn't told that restaurant was closed which was very inconvenient seeing hotel was out of town, they did manage to throw some noodles together for me. Room was nice, huge big bed and very clean.
Very nice clean hotel. Huge rooms and food was good. It was hard to communicate though because nobody spoke English. There was a very limited amount places to eat near the hotel
Modern and clean hotel with a cool rooftop pool. The staff were helpful and friendly.
The room was big and very comfortable, with a bathtub and a shower
Although the breakfast buffet had a lot of options, the food was average at best. The time the breakfast was open was not convenient either. Communication with the staff was complicated by the fact that none spoke English.
