Great for a one night stay to explore Otaru

Super conveniently located boutique hotel with a truly welcoming feel. From the moment we arrived, the staff were attentive, friendly, and genuinely helpful—service was excellent throughout our stay.

What stood out most was breakfast: the high tea set is a fun and interesting experience, and it made the morning feel special rather than routine buffet. Another highlight was the evening offering—free wine available from 5–6:30 pm, which was a lovely touch and an easy way to unwind after a day out.

Overall, this is the kind of place that gets the details right: great location, thoughtful hospitality, and standout small experiences that make the stay memorable.

Cons:

The room layout definitely wasn’t for me. The space felt chronically small, and the queen bed is also on the smaller side, which made it feel crowded from the moment we entered.

Overall, the room felt claustrophobic—there just wasn’t enough breathing room to feel comfortable or relaxed.

Cons:

The carpet was dirty and smells strong like mildew, had to open the window for some time. Room was much smaller than the pics. Checked out early in the morning just to get out of this place.

Excellent stay and great laundry facilities.
Pros:

The high tea style breakfast was great. Hotel was well located, and close to the Otaru Canal and the shopping streets.

Overall, my stay was not very pleasant.
Pros:

The location was quite good and convenient for getting around.

チェックイン時に、室内の備品が破損した場合はクレジットカードから直接請求されるという説明があり、自分でホテルのタブレットにクレジットカード情報を入力する必要がありました。この手続きには少し不安を感じましたので、改善されるとより安心して宿泊できると思います。

これまでたくさんの日本のホテルに宿泊してきましたが、このような手続きは初めてでした。また、外国人の宿泊客に対して偏見があるようにも感じました。

また、部屋のテレビは今まで泊まったホテルの中で一番小さかったです。Apple TVは設置されていましたが、その分でもう少し大きなテレビを導入したほうが良いと思いました。テレビのサイズは、私のパソコンのモニターよりも小さいくらいでした。

唯一良かったと言えるのは、レストランの雰囲気がきれいだったことです。

During check-in, guests are informed that any damage to items in the room may result in direct charges to their credit card, and they are required to enter their credit card information on a tablet themselves. This process felt a bit uncomfortable, so I think improving it would help guests feel more secure during their stay. I have stayed at many hotels in Japan before, but I have never experienced a process like this. I also felt that there may be some bias toward foreign guests.

Also, the TV in the room was the smallest one I have ever seen in a hotel. Although they provided an Apple TV, I think it would be better to spend that money on a larger television instead. The TV was even smaller than my computer monitor at home.

The only thing I can really compliment is that the restaurant was quite pretty and nicely designed.

小樽の観光名所、お店通りが近く、徒歩圏内で見所がたくさんあります。
　ホテル自体も落ち着いた雰囲気で良かったです。

部屋バスはあるのですが、疲れを癒やすには温泉大浴場が一番です
