Stay was good. Nice large nice room. There was a leaky faucet in the shower. I would recommend upgrading the showers. In

Close to restaurants and it was quiet.

Cons:

The parking was good , however there unnecessary charges being rung up for one day.

Not worthy of the Westin name
Pros:

Old, ugly, and out of date. Poorly maintained—during my stay, I witnessed leaky ceilings, moldy tiles, and dust/smoke from power tools polluting the air inside. Friendly staff, but they can’t make up for all the property issues.

Felt like a home away from home
Pros:

I chose the Westin for a staycation. I will be choosing this as a recurring place to stay; the room was great, lobby was great, and hospitality was fantastic. Anthony was running the front desk and he made me feel so welcome and like I’d been here before. Thank you Anthony, I’ll be coming back!

PLEASE DONT MAKE THIS HOTEL MODERN
Pros:

Please please do not turn this hotel into a contemporary vibe to please young people. We have enough boring contemporary modern hotels. The classy 90s vibe this hotel brings is why we come here!!! We stay here 8 weekends a year visiting my parents. we just learned you’re going to be doing renovations and that will definitely ruin it because we have enough hotels with the modern vibe that removes all warmth and character. We are 50. We don’t appreciate modern and we have money to go where we want. Young people like modern. It sucks that everywhere we go in the US has a sterile, cold, unfeeling modern decor now. please dont change what isn’t broken.

More Howard Johnson than Westin
Pros:

Horribly dated, tired and depressing. More Howard Johnson than Westin. The entire hotel is stuck in the 80’s and needs a makeover! Tub with shower curtain, leaky faucet in the ONE, TINY bathroom sink. Brown matted carpet, heavy dark curtains. Lobby is like walking into an old movie- and not in a good way. No restaurant but a cafeteria-like coffee shop. Worst of all- it’s 15-20 minutes from the River Walk/Downtown/Pearl district (everywhere you want to be in San Antonio) so get ready for multiple ride-share bills!

The Westin is great!
Pros:

Anthony was amazing! He made my stay awesome. So glad to chat with him and connect. My room was cold and he called on maintenance to help warm it up. I felt very taken care of with this team. Looking forward to visiting again!
