Great hotel with helpful staff
Pros:

Just got back from a great stay at this hotel. The staff are very helpful and couldn't do enough to make sure we had what we needed. The kids loved the pool and it was nice to be able to get up and get a good coffee and pastry from the shop downstairs. The location is great and the beach/pier and shopping area are all within walking distance.

Ok, but...
Pros:

Look and style of the place. Pet-friendly (although the fee of $175 per stay is too high). Great location. Free water bottles every day.

Cons:

Our room on the 2nd floor overlooking the roof of the entrance was a deception. The pool area could be cleaned up a bit more often during the day. The parking fee of $76/day is too high.

Pros:

Everything was perfect except the check in stuff.

Cons:

We felt like we had arrived at a hotel run by robots rather than people.

The staff outside were very friendly and welcoming, but unfortunately, the front desk staff were a completely different story.
Most of them were not friendly or helpful at all.

The only exception was the staff member who assisted us during checkout.
He was very kind and professional, and he definitely deserves a perfect score from us.
Unfortunately we don't know the names of the once that act like robots.

Great location, nice atmosphere
Pros:

This hotel is very hip, has great energy, and is in a fantastic location for anyone exploring Santa Monica, the beach, Venice, the Pier, etc. We were there for a wedding and had 3 rooms for 3 nights. We were spending alot of money and I expected exceptional service. While there were many bright spots (BJ at door, Abbie at the cabanas), some things left us wondering if they were simply short-staffed. We paid $300 to rent a cabana for the day and more than once, drink orders took 45 minutes or more. Once sitting in the restaurant area, we waited over one hour for a drink order (or food was gone before our drinks arrived). The towels were out of stock at the pool much of the day too. Aside from these small things, most aspects of our stay were great. We enjoyed the coffee shop, the food at the restaurant was good, and the rooms were comfortable. Door/luggage staff were phenomenal. despite our issues, I would stay here again - and thats why I gave it 5 stars.

Exceptional Service, Beautiful Hotel & Perfect Location
Pros:

We had a fantastic eight-night stay at the Viceroy Santa Monica. From the moment we arrived, everyone made us feel welcome and at home. A special thank you to BJ and the valet team—the valet service was outstanding and made coming and going with our rental car effortless.

Our Junior Suite was spacious and comfortable for me and my two sons, including the pull-out sofa. Housekeeping was excellent and always accommodated our schedule.

The restaurant exceeded our expectations. Every meal was delicious, arrived quickly, and the indoor-outdoor atmosphere created such a relaxing vibe. We especially enjoyed spending our last evening by the outdoor fire.

The décor is beautiful, the location is perfect for exploring Santa Monica, and the service from every member of the staff was consistently warm, friendly, and helpful.

We wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again and highly recommend the Viceroy to anyone visiting Santa Monica.

Amazing Stay!
Pros:

Excellent hotel! Everyone on the staff was incredibly kind and welcoming throughout our stay. The hotel is beautiful, very clean, and we truly enjoyed our time here. A special thank you to Luis, who was always so helpful with our bikes and luggage and greeted us with a smile every day. We highly recommend this place and can’t wait to come back!

Location and staff are the best things about the hotel.

Cons:

It’s overpriced with very few amenities. Parking is expensive ($70+ per day with tax) and outdoor with no protection, our car came back with a giant bird excrement on it. Pools are salt water but small. Food is average.
