SANA Metropolitan Hotel

The staff was very hospitable, the breakfast offered a delicious variety, the room felt cozy and clean. It seemed like the staff liked working there, which is important as their treatment affects their guests.

After returning from hosting a week-long conference at the Sana Metropolitan Hotel in Lisbon for 190 delegates, and I can honestly say it was an outstanding experience from start to finish.

The hotel itself is excellent, with comfortable bedrooms and great facilities throughout. The meeting spaces were exceptional, well-equipped, comfortable, and perfectly suited to large-scale events, which made the delivery of our programme run smoothly throughout the week. The catering was another real highlight, consistently high quality, varied, and very well received by our delegates. I received a great deal of positive feedback specifically about the range and standard of the food each day.

What truly sets this hotel apart, though, are the staff. They operate like one big family, all under the watchful eye of their General Manager, Vítor Junqueira Gonçalves. Nothing was ever too much trouble, and every request was handled with professionalism, warmth, and efficiency.

A very special mention must go to my three main contacts, Marta Fernandes, Joana Silva, and Joana Francisco. Without their support, dedication, and constant availability, my life would have been so much harder during the planning and delivery of this conference.

Another mention must go to Ilídio, this spritely 91 year old runs the gift shop in the hotel, his history is a must to hear, and he sells the most amazing gifts that anyone would love to bring back from Portugal, I thoroughly recommend the ceramic items!

Finally, there are also so many other team members across every department who contributed to the success of our event, and I’ll be writing to the hotel directly to recognise them as well.

If you’re planning a conference or large event in Lisbon, I would highly recommend the Sana Metropolitan Hotel.

L’hôtel est accueillant, propre et un bon placement

The SANA Metropolitan Hotel is a nice 4-star hotel. I have seen a lot of these. There isn’t anything to complain about.
But what is outstanding about this hotel is the dedication of every single staff member. I am not exaggerating when I say that every hotel employee you run into is way above average friendly, attentive and helpful. Front desk, cleaners, waiters, bar men, everybody… I’ve never seen anything like it!

Our room was clean and comfortable but fairly basic - probably the cheapest category of room as we were part of a group. No complaints though - we slept well, breakfasts were excellent and we had good food and service on the one evening that we dined in the bar. Staff were very helpful throughout our stay.
