STAY HERE at The Hotel Indigo! EXCELLENT CHOICE! We were in town for our son's 30th birthday party. He lives in VaHi and we normally stay at a nearby hotel which we love as well, but we wanted a change. We were somewhat hesitant because we don't love change, but we know from IHG's reputation the HI would be a good choice. It absolutely was! It is a historic properly listed on the National Register of Historic Places. It is well-maintained, clean with a WELCOMING and WONDERFUL staff. True hospitality.
I must mention each of them by name. From the front desk, to the housekeeping staff, as well as the restaurant each member was superb. Cierra, Anthony, Michael, Akim, Osborn, Jaylin, Caralina, and David what a team! There is not a dedicated bell staff, but the employees do not hesitate to jump in to help you. Cierra, front desk team member was helpful as we checked in. As we were leaving David was working on a task on a very busy Sunday as guests were leaving and he immediately gave his attention to us and helped us with our bags. Some reviews mention the small bathrooms. The building was "Bachelor Apartments" when it was first built in 1925. Over the years the hotel has kept it's charm and smaller bathrooms are not uncommon in many cities and locations. However from what I understand a guest can request a larger bathroom if available.
It is in a safe area, but as in any city spatial awareness is paramount. There are security measures to enter and exit. The HI is also pet friendly with a allocated pet area which is clean and maintained as well. I highly recommend this lovely property.
Don't forget to enjoy the sites around the hotel. The Fox Theatre and The Georgian Terrace has beautiful architecture and interesting history. Go to Piedmont Park, The Atlanta Botanical Gardens, The High Museum and The Beltline. Eat breakfast at The Majestic Diner on Ponce and maybe a film at The Plaza Theatre. Eat dinner at one of the many delicious restaurants. Have the coffee of your choice at Cafe Intermezzo down the street from the HI. Enjoy Atlanta it is a wonderful city! (I do not work for IHG. My review is from a verified stay!:)
Very poor service. Very poor service.
The hotel is easy to find and walking distance from restaurants and stores. The old school band theme is really cool and the room has everything you might need. Cierra at the front desk was absolutely lovely and made my stay that much better with her friendliness!
The room is fairly small but was not a problem for a solo traveler.
I really enjoyed my stay at the Hotel Indigo Midtown Atlanta. If you like historic hotels with character, this is definitely worth checking out. It has a quaint, charming feel that gives it a lot more personality than your typical hotel.
One thing to know is that the bathrooms are pretty small, but honestly, the shower more than made up for it. I'm a sucker for a shower with great water pressure and plenty of continuous hot water, and this one delivered! After a long day of exploring Atlanta, it was exactly what I needed.
What really made the stay special was the staff. Everyone I came across—from check-in to check-out—was genuinely friendly, welcoming, and professional. A special thank you to Cierra at the front desk. She was absolutely awesome—10/10! She was incredibly helpful, professional, and made us feel welcome from the moment we arrived. Great customer service like that really makes a difference.
There's also a nice bar and restaurant right off the lobby where you can order breakfast or dinner. I ate there and was pleasantly surprised. The food was really good, and it was nice having that option without having to leave the hotel.
Overall, I had a wonderful experience. Between the historic charm, comfortable stay, excellent shower, great food, and outstanding staff, I'd definitely stay here again. If you're looking for a hotel with personality in the heart of Midtown Atlanta, Hotel Indigo is a great choice.
Associate Don at the Atlanta downtown midtown location was excellent. His service was very welcoming and his explanation of the property and surrounding area for recommendations was top tier!!
I would definitely rebook at the Indigo midtown and look for Don!
The location was amazing, the view was incredible, and the staff were so kind and accommodating!
The hotel is a very ‘cute’ boutique hotel. Rooms have been nicely renovated - music/theatre themed as is the hotel reception. All the staff were super friendly and helpful - especially Don on Reception and our bartender (I can’t remember his name, but he looked like Lenny Kravitz!) There’s a decent breakfast, lunch/dinner menu, and although we didn’t eat there, all the food that came out looked very good. Great location just opposite the Fox Theatre and a short walk to plenty of bars and restaurants. The only negative was the bathroom - the shower was a good size, but the room itself was absolutely minuscule. I would definitely stay there again.
It was disappointing that the Tripadvisor reviews and photos did not highlight several significant downsides to the property. The room was small, and the bathroom was so cramped it could barely accommodate one person. Street noise and weekend events made it nearly impossible to sleep. In addition, staffing was minimal, and service was virtually nonexistent. Considering the price, the room was not competitive with far superior hotels in the Midtown area. Our experience was so poor that we ultimately decided to switch hotels.
Location
Smallest bathroom I’ve ever seen in a hotel
David was very friendly and helpful.
I like how it was very convenient right next to the Fox theater and near some good place to eat before the shows.
The bathrooms are way too small, but considering it's a historic hotel that I cannot control. But overall the hotel was great.
Amazing location and staff
Bathrooms are small
I recently stayed at the hotel Indigo midtown for work. The hotel is conveniently located downtown, and calling an uber/lift was a breeze. Throughout my stay, Don at the front desk was extremely accommodating and able to help whenever I had a question.
